Funcom has released some hints about the upcoming adventure zone:
Onlinewelten: Update 4.0 will feature a new Adventure Pack. Could you give us a first and tiny hint?
Craig Morrison, Game Director: I'm afraid not specifically, apart from mentioning that we really like exploring the legacy of the ancient gods, the dark and twisted ones, the ones that have a habit of coming back to haunt the Hyborian present.
Next hint is from the mmorpg video interview(around 29:30)
Craig Morrison: We can't give out any details, but we can tease with some teasing though I guess.
I guess especially storywise Josh a lot of the content we've been doing kinda leading up to some of the creatures and the powers that will be at play in the new area.
We can say that the area borders to the existing locations quite closely, but kinda goes into the darker side of things, the older side of things. The evils that may have been buried for some time.

They also mention that they'll take inspiration from HP Lovecraft in the new area too.
Is it possible to draw any conclusions form that?
