I hate'd eve + MY wish list for 2010

Every ones first mmorpg is always something special, be it ultima, or everquest...etc.

You know that feeling you get when you find out "OMFG!!111oneone There's SO MANY PLAYERS ON THE GAME IT MUST BE GOOD" and no matter how bad the mmorpg was it stuck with you for life?

Thats how it is with earth and beyond and me, yes it was childish. Yes, Combat was horrible. But i didnt see these things, i only saw a multiplayer game (only mp game ive played at that time was mohaa) with 2000 people i could interact. Customizable ships (I loooooove customabilty[if thats a word]).

And funny little rping values like TADA-0!!!

Now that ive had that little rant my question is:

Im playing eve right now, and ive tried the trial at least twice, and never got into until recently when i got a spontanues urge to play something spacey. It probably had something to do with playing WoW, Eq2, and Some other games with gnomes and fairys.

Is there ANY game out there that can give me my Spacetacular sim feeling i got from EnB?

WARNNING: From here down are just my longings for the next space mmorpg.

Sometimes....late at night.....I rub my eve and EArth and beyond Cd's together and see if they'll make the greatest game EVER!!!!!

It would have eve's nose, eyes and :

Scale - 5000 some oddd systems

Server - 300,000 people one a single server (hey i can dream can't I?)

Graphics - mmmmm eve's graphics

Comeplexity -  its too complex to go into but you get my meaning

Story - Not the same story but something of the same caliber.

PvP - Seems alright but we need to get rid of gates and just have stations so the choke point thing is less of a problem. I really have no idea what im saying ive never pvp'd but i've heard thats all it is.

HOWEVER! it would NOT have eve's:

Targeting system - Come onnn!

Scale - TRips just a bit smaller

Lvling system - Maybe some kinda combination you know? I would like to know that the time i spent online meant something and see the results, but the lvling while im away has its pluses....What to do, what to do.

It would have Earth and beyond's (enb is the father btw)

Customabilty! - Oh yeah baby, colors, shapes. This is all for cosmetic effect only...pretty much. You add another engine? *BOOP* There it is.

1 # STORY STORY STORY - I would defintly not mind if it had Enb's story in its entirety. Need more races and classes.

OMG I CAN WALK! -  If yall dont know, you could acculty get out of your ships and walk around at space stations. Think Kotor. Same customabilty for char's as well

Tutorial - Come one eve, If I dont knwo the long term effects of my CLass/race choice how can i make an informed descision? Love EnB's First bit needs real voice acting.

Quests - Kill this, this and this? NOOOOO. Omg i loved the quests, even the one where I got jipped for my bonus when signed with....the army. Quest interaction please for the love of all things holy?

            A particulary intresting quest had me destroying a friegther, seems cookie cutter enough right?  WRONG! Half way through destoying it i was hailed (which stopped my attacks) and was given different converstion options. The pilot told me that he was carrying women and children for an enemy faction.

I had the CHoice, Choice, I had the CHOICE...........it beared repeating.....of 1. either destroying them(which i did) or 2. Leaving them alone. When i got back to the guy who gave the quest i had  3 CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES I HAD 3!!!!......1. tell him i destroyed him,  2. Tell him they got away. or 3. tell him that he told him that the pilost told me there were the women & children aboard 

I CHOSE 3. And he said "so?" I was emotionally shaken, i had just destroyed a ship full of innocents, not cookie cutter to me.

Yes there are some Go to X and kill Y but there are so many main and side quest that just broke the mold

I love you Enb and im begining to love you EVE, but dont tempt me.

I like eves ideas But i lost alot of skill points and my battleship when dying bk in sept 2003 and quit :P Games too unforgiving

   I played on the E&B trial before it comes to an end. I then switched to EVE. Frankly I didn't play E&B that much and I can't say that I really find anything better in E&B than in EVE, except.... except just one thing : walking in the station.

   God, I would like to wander in stations looking for my agent, meeting my corpmates at the bar, going to the docks and looking at my battleship and how tiny am I next to my monster.

But I would like also to fly over moons and planets, landing on starports wandering in the towns, meeting som contraband trader in some desert street on IGOMAR XVI, slowly building a pirate haven on the dark side of FIJGUIL XV's moon...

   Then I usually wake up all sweating....

In fact my wishlist is to melt all the Sci-Fi MMORPG into one and add a bunch of more stuff. I don't think I could afford the 250$ monthly fee, though....

you took the words outta my brain/mouth I want to walk and meet some traders in back alleys where i cna get an abortion if I get knocked up.... or not, but either way I WILL PAY 250$ a month just gotta have the back street abortion person sleep at my house for the job I will have to take to get that 250$ a month but eh I could get a hysterectomie ... Walking in stations with a character,not just having a potrait would bump eve up big time.Thats the only thing i wish eve had,but i still like it.

walking in station would add nothing to the game but eye candy, and eye candy alone does not in itself make a game, i would rather see them add more content in the existing theme, like new ships, eq, npc depth, missions etc.. (which they are doing) rather than spending 1/2 a year making a 3rd person walking element of that game that would add nothing in the way of content and simply fulfill the wishes of people who are so used to 3rd person avatar views that they cant accept a game could be perfectly fine without it.  i know i sound flamish about this but just cause 95% of the games out there have that 3rd person view is precisely the reason eve shouldnt. if you want to walk around then go play all them other games, dont look to make one game that stands apart conform.

I was playing ENB before it was closed down and  it would add alot to be able to get out of that ship and walk around in stations or even walk around in your ship.

 

and alot of former ENB players  was coming over from ENB too EVE.  But as you didnt have a 3d char to walk around and socialize now alot of them have quit EVE and play swg and even WoW just becouse of the 3d char.

 

( yeas WoW and SWG isnt that good I know but still people will chose a mmorpg with a 3d chars instead of a avatar )

 

CCP losing alot pontent customers due too this . They  know about it

( they even been small chitt chatt  about it in the future too implent it NO promise )

 

But purly technical its wouldnt be a problem they got most of the stuff there

and it wouldnt create any lagg 

 

the idea is too make it as   follow you use a similiar thing as dungeons when getting out of the ships as char you dont need that ships stuff soo you load out of your pod  here you can have a loading seq     then you enter the stations

 

(btw another space mmorpg is planned having it)

 

still love ccp and EVE    shit I got 6 accounts

Thanks Malena_vxx1 for doing what i was thinking of doing,By telling this guy to shut up.Every mmorpg gives you an a character to play as but eve.And i never understude why.How hard could it be to add this in the game.Those stations look awsome,how could anyone not want to check them out.My theory is pvp freaks of eve

Different people have different opinions. I have talked to many people who left ENB when EVE first came out (long before ENB was cancelled) and said that ENB was cheesy compared to EVE.

So in the same way the above contributed to this conversation, making full stations and 3D characters would contribute to EVE.
