When Aion came out, I thought it was one of the best MMOs to give WoW a run for its money. Using the CryEngine to render the game, it looked incredible. Of course it was well known not too far into the game that it would be a grind fest to get levels from the midway point of the game to max. The quests at the beginning helped to grow your character and gain more skills, but the grind was such a burnout, I lost interest in the game quickly, as I know a lot of you did.
Now its going free to play in Europe, and its only a matter of time before it goes free to play in the US. I don't know if I will go back and try it out again, now that so much of the game has changed supposedly for the better. Are any of you going back to it when it goes free to play? And has that much of the game changed that its worth investing any time into (with SWTOR out now and GW2 coming)? Just curious what other people think of the game now and if its even worth it as a stop-gap until GW2 is released (the one I'm waiting for).
Thanks all.

If it is free, and if i have time, i do not see why i shouldnt try it. I did the beta and wasn't too impressed. But once again, if it is free, i will try it.
It's free so why not just see if you enjoy it, I rather had fun with it before the grind kicked in. I've been told they greatly increased the leveling speed and improved drops from some friends who still play, so who knows if NA goes free I might see if I still like it.
Yeah, that's what I figured, I took a look at all the new patch videos of features they were adding and it looks interesting. I didn't even get to enjoy the dungeons first time around because I was getting so fed up with the pace, but definitely willing to give it another shot, at least till GuildWars2 comes out
