I usually only read reviews just to see if they agree with my own thoughts about the game. I would never buy a game based on what some other person said.
The only good reviewers for games is yourself, close friends, or family. Never forget that.

WoW is critically acclaimed.
I understand that after seven years you are tired of the formula personally but that in no way means WoW is a bad game.
As for as Metacritic is concerned, user reviews can too easily be exploited by haters & fanboys to ever truely be a reliable source.

IMO you should replace Guild Wars with another MMO to compare, since GW is more an Co-op game, or as the devs said "competetive online rpg".
