is it me or does that atlas look alittle odd.. im not used to that style of design.. maybe my WH knowledge is failing now but i thought it was more menicing that doesnt look the same @_@

I think my palate has been spoiled by Macross/Gundam overexposure. The current mech selection is just "blah" to me.

The scaling in those images is pretty bad.  They basically settled on the title, background, and then tried to have the mech fill the blank space - blows the scale to crap.

in macross and gundam 1 hero unit fires his mega beam gun and 1000 enemies evaporate, in mechwarrior lances of 5 units clash and sometimes everyone goes home to tell about it, although usually someone blows up the other team in the end.

 

mechs are walking tanks with multiple functions, some have superb sensors others have area jamming to cover the team, some are walking arsenels that are blind or easily seen without their sensor and jamming mates.  its far more of a team effort then sendin a jap kid named hiro out in a walking super weapon with a cannon that can blow a hole in a planet and telling him to blow off some anxt.

Sadly they play it very bad, do almost not fight, do not assign weapon groups, do not lock on targets etc. but its showing 2 different maps while having some talk.
