I would of loved Bioware to take the story telling that they do so well and made a Star Trek MMO, picture the story telling choices of Mass Effect merged into the Star Trek universe like they are doing with Star Wars-TOR.
What are your thoughts on the subject and who would have picked to create the perfect Star Trek MMO.

Rockstar would have made a red light district holo-room program ...
Still voted Bioware, though.
My brand new bloggity blog.
CCP for graphics style.
CCP or Rockstar would of been my second choices allthough Rockstar never really did a Sci Fi I feel they could of made a gritty version on Star Trek, CCP for the exp with Sci Fi, Beth. would of been cool for a pure sandbox Star Trek MMO.
Looking through the years, I'd vote for the original Interplay team that made the Star Trek 25th Anniversary game and were in the midst of Secret of Vulcan's Fury before bad stuff ent down to do an MMO with their style of story telling. They understood a Trek story and episode perhaps better than any other developer team has since.
I voted for Blizzard cos I think they have more money and talented Dev for an MMO than the rest.
The rest Dev will just try to copy WOW ( 90% did ) .
Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language
I chose other in favor of Turbine, because Star Trek would work better if played episodically, and had it been designed like DDO with epic self-contained instances with social hubs, it would have been much better. Much like my opinion of SWTOR after having played it at a convention. It would be much better if it were just a ton of epic flashpoints with social hubs...
Agree with this post and would pick Turbine myself, although I do agree Bioware or CCP would be great too. If Cryptic had developers and writers who had skills that matched those of their graphics designers, STO would have been great.
I voted Bethesda because of the experience they have in creating open world rpg's as opposed to the tight story focused games of Bioware. Star Trek has always been less about the stories and more about the people, places etc. whicvh is why I think Bethesda would make a better star trek experience than Bioware.
I voted for Bioware only because they wouldve stuck with the IP a little more closely IMO. I almost went with CCP only because of Eve's graphics and bi-annual updates.
***Federation now has plunger torpedos installed on all Ships! Massive pwnage!***
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.
Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes
Bethesda should never ever be allowed near the Star Trek IP again after the shambles that was Star Trek : Legacy
I also believe NCSoft should be on that list looking at GW2, could you imagine STO with the same kind of development.
I think Star Trek ONLY works as a MMO if it's much more of a Sandbox so I voted Bethesda -
Why Bethesda?
Becuase they make sandbox games that still have a main story and are really good at capturing immersion.
The episodic approach that Cryptic took, well, it's more like the original series or TNG in that each episode is it's own contained story and only a few are over-arching, long-term story elements....
But I always thought the continuing "saga" stories of DS9 (even Voyager) and the last Trek show were better.
I mean, TNG and Classic had some great 2-parters etc. but there were a LOT of crap filler episodes.
I went with Bioware, you have a good point about the storytelling they do.
Sure wish it didnt land in the hands of Cryptic. I will be following Dollar Bill, Zinc and Jack E around for years and staying away from any game they are involved in.
I went with Rockstar.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that was the best choice. I was thinking Rockstar because of the 'Wild West' feel of the original series, which is what I'd want out of a game. Rockstar would make a pretty decent game with that kind of vibe. I'm pretty sure that anyone but Cryptic could have done a better job though.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Voted CCP. Why? Best Star Trek MMO would have to be sandbox where players hav an impact on game world and preferably one universe for everyone. You could say form of EvE in Star Trek universe.
Bioware - they have shown their skills in single player games. They yet have to show what they can do in MMORPG genre
Blizzard - they also could do it although my feeling is that Star trek universe is so specific that Blizzard could easily do more hamr than good to it by influencing it with their own style. Starcraft is just not enough in this case. They could do this too but it would be more risky than in case of CCP really
Bethesda - there is a reason why the best known games of Bethesda are the ones in TES series
Rockstar - not really much experience in MMO games
As for other companies it would be possibly Turbine but with similar notes as for Blizzard
Of course you are aware 90 percent of what WoW dev did was copy content of other games that were released before ( and since ) its release . Nothing wrong in doing that because its true of most games across most genres of gaming (multiplayer and solo ) except of course the difference being for every other game apart from WoW you don't have gullable brainwashed fans believing what they are playing is 100 percent totally innovative and original .
Had Blizzard done it what we would have got was something smooth and polished and so easy to play that it would only appeal to children and novice gamers .
I went for Bioware because thus far I've yet to see them do a bad game . They are untried in the mmo field but I have faith in them to do a good job where as Blizzard are a known quantity and that known quantity is a lazy company that managed to turn a decent game into a banal, boring, tired piece of rubbish . One great game ruined by greed .They have lost all credibility in my eyes .
Considering Bioware has yet to ship an MMO, and considering SWOTOR's space combat will be on rails, I can't give the vote to Bioware - I never fall into blind fanboism. CCP, on the otherhand, has shipped a successful MMO, although the space combat is (imo) extrememly boring. However, I believe they (CCP) would have implemented the space combat a bit differently, and better, than what Cryptic created.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.
I wish they could do more sandbox game elements but frankly a theme park environment allows developers to sell the intellectual property license to the user with more aplomb. If you look at almost any game based on a licensed IP this is true from LOTRO to DCUO. The objective is to let you play in the footsteps of the series characters to showcase their IP rather than to truly ever let you go your own way… SWTOR can get away from this model based on how the game IP was created.
If you look at the campaign it's clearly a tour of each TV series in the IP and was meant to be that way.
Yeah... I like Trek but I support more orginal intellectual properties for games for this reason. lol
I was really torn between Bioware and Bethesda, but Bethesda's games tend to be really gritty whereas the Star Trek universe seems so... sanitary.
I actually think the Star Trek IP got the mmo it deserved. So I voted other for Cryptic.
Sorry if I offend any Star Trek fans, just my opinion.
As we really dont know how a bioware MMO is going to turn out, and im not impressed at all wit the things they are donig with the star wars ones I voted CCP as really they are the only company in the list that has made and is currently running a space mmorpg that is any good..
