I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it once again; Guild Wars 2 is shaping up to be a true industry changer. The same attention and care being put into the design of the PvE experience has gone into PvP as well, and I can easily see it developing into the next great e-sport title that competitive gamers will flock to, regardless of their genre backgrounds.
Hands-down GW2 PvP has been the high point of my PAX experience this year, and I have absolutely no doubts that GW2 is going to be a huge, huge game. Guild Wars 2 is the breath of fresh air that the MMO industry has sorely needed, and worthy of every bit of hype it receives.

Where did we hear that before?
Oh yeah right, in about every preview/handson experience opinion...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Hype more bro...
Sure thing sis...
WAR,TOR,STO
the list goes on.
"Regardless of the specific tactical approach to the map, it was clear from the outset that the pace of combat in PvP is far more active than what you’d expect from an MMO. Matches were rarely one-sided, and I could see exactly why it was said that PvP in GW2 will easily appeal to competitive gamers of all stripes, such as hardcore FPS players."
Beign a mmo and FPS player myself, this really hits home
If people want to remain blind.... then there is nothing anyone not even god can do about that...
After my hands on experience at Gamescom, I just know how good and gamechanging this game will be....

Arenanet have a lot of experience in PvP gameplay mechanics, and given how much of the game is focused on that, i would be extremely surprised if they hadnt put a lot of effort into it.. its going to be the main reason to play, for some it might even be the only reason to play.
Too bad none of those on your list ever showed anything to back up the statement. GW2 is showing it before it's even hit closed beta. What else ya got Captain Downer?
Same here broski.
I wasn't that impressed.
Personally I take into account the potential many of the games to release in recent years had. The may not have ended up delivering but many of them had that spark. Now, we have another that has a spark but other games and other companies failures are no reason to write this one off, or any other for that matter.
It's easy to get bogged down by the disappointments of recent years and be trained to only look within those blinkers.
It's personally rekindled my interest in PvP.
TOR lookes like it might deliever its WoW clone self.
GW2 looks like it will deliever a good one month worth of gaming slapp on 50$ x pac every six month and then brag about their B2P BS.
As i said, the blind will remain blind..... You're the first one i met that was not impressed with the game, and i talked to dozens of people with hands on experience at Gamescom.
I was so impressed that i even forgot to ask the questions i wanted to ask...

Was still impressed just not "Holy shit this is so fucking innovative" impressed that people here seem to think.
I was impressed enough to pre order when it lauches not impressed enough to buy x-pacs that come after.
PVE can be fun.. admittedly.. but you don't get the same adrenaline rush you get from PvP ..
??? does what you say makes any sense ? wheter you by x-pacs or not is determinated by your impression on a demo now, that makes you preorder? That i dont get!
You dont know that yet
I played the game and combat wise I wasn't as impressed as other people and the lack of raiding doesn't really help.
I enjoyed it enough to pay 50-60 USD for it. However I will not pay another 40-50 USD for an X-pac every six months.
Spot on. I'm really looking forward to experiencing that rush again. It's been quite a while...
Sounds like you should try something else instead, same as everyone that really likes raiding.
No game is for everyone and GW2 cateer to the people who doesn't enjoy raiding while TOR are more traditional.
And for gods sake, clear out some of those quotes.
When I get my hands on the game at launch I will come to that conclution until then I can tell people what I think.
Yeap, definitely a Captain Downer alright. You know you could have just said, "Yea, I played it and I was impressed but not 'OMG I lost my jaw whilst playing that game' impressed" and we'd have a more civilized discussion about it rather than, troll torching for the first 3 pages.
This is not a game.
You know MMOs are screwed when you have to chose between WoW with lightsabers and an Over hyped game (at least on this site).
In all seriouness I never said I didn't enjoy my experiance playing the game. I just didn't find it to be the genre changer people on this site claim it to be.
Wait till it solves world hunger and brings the kingdom of God to Earth, you'll see then.
