Whats going on? Price of PLEX

GnatBugGnatBug Member Posts: 75

I must admit i am no econimist but if the economy of EVE is driven by  Supply &  Demard trends then does the current collapts in the demarnd for Plex indicate a bigger problem!

I was expecting the Price of Plex to climb as the NEX store requied you to covert Plex to AURA ... So whats up... or has somany poeple stoped playing that it is having a systemic affect on the Game Time Economy!

It's summer and many people are doing other things besides playing EVE.  You'll find prices of most everything are on a downward trend, though long term there's actually been sort of a deflation of the economy that can't be accounted by just a summer downturn.

They should pick back up in the fall once more more players come back in the game.

Great time to be a plex buyer however.

Don't forget supply and demand for plex works outside the game as well as inside, i.e. more demand ingame means more people buying outside an imbalance here could easily cause the price to drop in the short term.

    Sell price:  372 million

    Buy price 367.3 million

PLEX has dropped to it's pre-aura prices and is trending upwards at its expected rate.

Starships in Jita are up overall, but it's the summer and that usually happens.

    Minerals and ore are down.

Planetary Materials are up in Jita but have dropped where I usually do my trading.

Personally, prices in the regions I frequent are right in the range Hazelle posted. I don't think this really indicates any problems for the reasons listed and for the fact there is a limited selection in the NeX store anyhow. Very likely those who wanted items cashed in and got them already so demand has receeded to near normal levels. I imagine it's possible to see spikes in PLEX prices each time a new wardrobe is released. But, as with the OP, I am no economist either. Just speculating....

Possibly, prices were already too high due to people stocking up pre-incarna? And now are simply stabilizing?

I know it took a good 8 days for the Maller prices to normalize.
