Imitatio Dei was founded on August 11th, 2008 when the majority of players from the guild known as The Eminence split apart. Our first official MMO as Imitatio Dei was Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. After much debate, we decided as a guild to make our new home Sylvania, where we became the top ranked guild in both Guild Level and Renown. As has become the trend in modern MMOs, Warhammer began to fade from popularity and lost its fun factor (for us), so in an attempt to rekindle our love for the game, the guild transferred to Volkmar where we continued our trek to the top. But, this time we allied ourselves with friends and like-minded guilds, DROW (aka Brotherhood of the Spider) & Carnage, that united as one to form the top Destruction alliance on Volkmar.



Throughout the games played we've been among the top. In Age of Conan (pre-split) we were the world's first guild to successfully siege and take a battle keep from the guild Genesis. We also defended the keep with our lives repelling over 9 attempts to breach our walls before we left Age of Conan on July 28th, 2008. In Warhammer we dominated the fields of RvR on both Sylvania and Volkmar servers. We were on the forefront 99% of the time leading the charge and organizing the "PuG" groups into an effective and cohesive force to reckon with. When we finally hit Aion, we hit it hard, emerging as the dominate Asmodian guild on the Kaisinel server. Dominating Abyss Fortresses and decimating Elyos Legions, we quickly established ourselves as the most feared PvP guild on the server.

  After Aion, we slowly dispersed to complete Real Life accomplishments, due to the lack of a quality MMO title to dominate. But now we are gearing up for the release of SW:ToR, and will soon add to our list of accomplishments.

***This guild was originally created with the mind set of being number one. However as the leadership has gotten older and entered later years of College/University or graduated and are working full time we have had to change things around dramatically. ***

 

Here at Imitatio Dei we are not your average casual guild, we have goals and plans like any of the hardcore guilds; The exception is we understand that real life comes first. We strive to have an extended-family mentality to our guild full of members dedicated to the game, the guild, and our set goals. We strongly prefer a small member-base of skilled players over a large force of mediocre players, and that is why we aim to never become a mindless zerg guild. Quality over quantity will win the day.

Imitatio Dei is an active guild with an active player base that is focused on a common goal; we strive to improve ourselves and don't view defeat as a loss, but as a learning experience. As a close knit community we value every player’s opinion and skill, we don't get ourselves trapped in the mindset that it worked twenty times before so it's the only way to do it!



We run a Council leadership system and our Council consists of 5 officers (currently). Our guild leaders boast years of experience in leading guilds for MMO's and other genres of games. Most of our member-base is the same way, playing games for years from Ultima Online, SWG, DAoC, AoC, WAR and several other MMO's, and are well versed in the ways of PvP and PvE. We actively work together to keep any drama (if it ever occurs) to a minimum, and if things escalate the Council will take the appropriate action that is best for the guild and our members. Everyone hates drama and ID strives to be drama free.



One of our main requirements to become part of the Imitatio Dei community is the active and regular use of Voice Chat. This is required because we use voice communication for everything, from getting to know members, having fun during down times, and organizing PvP/PvE groups for raids and objectives. As a mature (18+) guild, we also understand that everyone here is an adult, and as such, profanity is occasionally used in voice chat. While this is acceptable, blatant racism and derogatory conduct towards anyone else is not.



Also, As previously stated Imitatio Dei is a tight knit community that believes staying a non zerg guild. We want all of our members to strive to get to know each other and how they play so we can actively predict each other's movements in PvP, leading to a well-organized and oiled machine.

 

~Cheating~

Imitatio Dei has prided itself in keeping a clean and cheat free environment over the years, while some guilds have turned to cheats and other forms of third party programs. We strive to keep Imitatio Dei 100% free from cheaters. We're very, very, very strict on the concept of NO CHEATING, HACKING, EXPLOITING, GLITCHING ETC.... Anything that EULA considers a bannable or suspendable offense at no time should you or any other member be doing. If you're caught you'll be instantly Guild removed and reported by the entire guild. You'll also be called out to the entire server so that everyone can know to report and evade playing/socializing with you.

Imitatio Dei has changed alot over the past few years. We have moved on from our elitist, hard core past. We have all gotten older, and have careers and/or families. But we still strive to be the best players that we can be. We may not log 40+ hours per week anymore, but we still expect that every officer and member will contribute to the guild. In SW:ToR, we will strive to be one of the best, and most respected PvP guilds on our chosen server.
