Just getting out of my system: I GODDAMNHATE the intense rift ads that fill up every single empty spot on the front and back pages of MMORPG.COM. It's nice to see a gaming house see the value of advertising their game, but it's been going on for months now. I couldnt stand rift gameplay (fell asleep after 30 minutes every time), but more power to all of you who do.
No point to this thread. Welcome to everybody who will now reply that I'm stupid and this thread is stupid and other games who dont advertise as much are stupid. Yeah, you're right.
See you in another thread.

I think you should get an add blocker add-on for your browser.
I only see the background ad and an random banner at the foot of the page.

It doesn't help. Rift is everywhere :-)

Pretty much summed it up in your last few sentences. :
He who keeps his cool best wins.
I would actually say the one thing that Trion excelled at with this game was their PR and marketing, so... annoying yes, but also massively successful for them.
They have managed to sell and keep selling a very (IMO) mediocre, derivative, and uninspired product, so they probably consider that worth annoying you
Someone forget their Prozac this morning?
Most amuzing place to find Rift ads is curse.com home of the WoW addons. even the curse mod updater has ads for Rift, i love it. I tell all those friends still playing wow, how's the rift banners in game going for you? mwuahahahaha!
You're not stupid. We can appreciate your frustration, however, we're only able to provide this site as a free service to you as a result of the revenue we receive from ads (so if you are using an ad-blocker, please add us to your white list!) and I imagine you'd rather see relevant ads such as ads for RIFT rather than something telling you to buy a new MP3 player or an ad for ESPN.
We work pretty hard to ensure that the type and way we present ads on the site are the most relevant to you as gamers while also being the least intrusive. It can be an interesting balancing act at times, but it's something we take very seriously. We don't use pop-up ads, we don't force you to clickthrough and view an ad page, all of our ads are game-related, etc.
Use the intenet like you do a newspaper or magazine. All three of them are filled and financed by advertisements. In time you learn to filter out most of that which you are not interested in.
