First day in... comments and questions

in Lineage 2

Well after my first day back in I thought I would give some thoughts as well as a few more questions.  For reference, I played L2 in beta and then after release a couple years.

Comments:  I logged in (Chronos server) as a fighter DE.  I did actually see other new players as I went between the village and the temple.  A high level player was handing out buffs to newbies and talking to them, very cool.  I came across a fair number of players getting to 20, and did not see a single bot.  I saw no PK'ers and was not griefed a single time.  Dion had a little activity with people meandering about and when I went to Giran I was lagging with all the activity.  I did a shout in general asking for some ? help, and I had 2 responses in about 5 seconds.  This game is very much alive and the community seems great.  Maybe seeing the servers combined in L2 and the recent announcement that L1 in north america is closing permenently - is making people nice... I dunno.  The 'aura' of the game remains fantastic - forgot just how much I loved the music and sound fx in this game.  Another thing I love is the way loot drops in this game... not just a window opening or a chest on the ground - the pile of money and items on the ground - makes it feel much more 'real'.  Very happy I returned.

Questions:

1.  The 7 year anniversary rewards... did you have to have an active account on a certain date?  I have nothing in my inventory but I see the messages to open them by June 8, 2011.  I did just start yesterday so maybe I am not eligible.

2.  Shadow armor?  So I have gotten a ticket to get shadow armor but don't know where to get it?  Checked several NPC's

3.  I made it to D grade, Spiritshots and blessed sps for the various grades - sold by vendor or do I need to buy from player shops?

4.  Is there a dungeon finder tool?  Am I just not locating it in the interface?

    Very glad to see you are enjoying Lineage 2. When I hear people say the game is dead or full of bots or its nonthing but a gank fest they loose all credabitlity because I know that they have no idea what they are talking about.  I advise all people that are tired of themeparks to give this game a try.

     

    1. I think you had to have an active account but not sure.

     

    2. I think you meant Shadow Weapons and they can be got from your Class Master. Like if you are a fighter you need to go to the Fighers Guild where you get your skill from and talk to the Grand Master.

     

    3. D Grade shots should be cheaper from player shops but also check the town stores as the blessed shots can be found cheaper in the town stores.

     

    4. Open your map and go to World Info / Hunting Zone

     

    Now a bit of advice.

    1. Look for a clan that is recruiting for academy and join. Being in a good clan makes all the difference in Lineage 2.

    2. If you are D Grade go to Giran and buy Top D Common Weapon and Armor. Do this for C Grade also and check Giran Luxury Shop for B Grade stuff so you can be prepared for it when you hit B Grade.

    Yes I am on Chronos. 

    Thanks for all the tips.  I asked a general question in Giran a couple hours ago and some guy invites me to party gives me adena and buys me a full D set of armor and jewelry after seeing I am a returning player and talking to me for a bit. 

    If people are looking for a game - this is the one!
