I got a free 45 days of Vanguard even though I was not subbed during the time service was down. I thought this may be useful information for anyone that use to sub to VG and want to check it out again--go and see if you have a free month.

Enter your password -> welcome xxxx, you need to reset your password ->give me your old password ->sorry, wrong password -> rince and repeat
wtf?
Try this:
Open Station Launcher
Click "Forget Password?"
It will ask you for your station name. Type in your name and proceed.
They will email you a temporary password.
Log in through the station launcher with your temporary password. While in your station launder, go to "account info", sign in with your temporary pass again, and then there should be an option to change your pass within the station launcher.
Good luck!

I did that before posting here.
I didnt get any temporary password. I got asked one of those "secret questions" that I never had to setup when creating the account and, ofc, regardless me knowing the answer, the system would not recognize my answer becouse, as I said, I never had to set that secret question when I created the account in the first place.
If I try again, the system just tells me "password reset failed". (I guess it failed like the rest of the company, hehe).
Guess I ll have to phone them.
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you will get it all straightened out.

It looks like they signed up everyone for station pass...not sure if that was accident or what.
It wasn't. All affected accounts that are or were active (even free-trial) got 30 free days, starting with the day you log into the game for the first time.
REALITY CHECK
I only got 45 days of Vanguard and SWG. I use to sub to VG and I played the trial for SWG lol, it makes me regret not having played the trials for the other games =P

all of my former accounts are now active for 45 days....
Same here. All my former soe games have been restarted. I re-downloaded VG and played for a couple hours. Was fun! It just may make me resub to it again lol
I'm downloading the Vanguard client now with 45 days playtime on my account.
I've been itching for an excuse to have a look around again, pretty excited!
A lot of people are checking VG out now, so hopefully SOE takes this as a sign and makes it F2P or something...
-Computer specs no one cares about: check.
-MMOs played no one cares about: check.
-Xfire stats no one cares about: check.
-Signature no one cares about: check.
------------------------------------------------------------
-Narcissism: check.
Perhaps if subs dramatically increase after the 45 days is up...

Seems to be a good time to try out the games to a further degree. Having 7/14 day trials are fairly good but 45 days is enough time to really experience alot of the content from low to high, depending on how long it takes you etc.
I might give it ago again and see how it is now. I only played during the first month so possibly good to try now!

was a bit surprised they even added the 45 days to lapsed players... though i guess their thinking is that it doesnt hurt to try and woo some of the old players back again... given that its probably inevitable that there will be some losses to the current playerbase... it is kind of tempting to redownload planetside again though.. and vanguard.. i just can't help feeling that in the end i'll be banging my head again the exact same wall though. ..
When i try to download free trial from SOE page, im getting this message:
HTTP Status 404 - /isleofdawn/index.vm
Anyone else have the same problem?
You can download the trial throughout the station laucher not the homepage.
Anyways i hope this opportunity will be finally a renessaince for Vanguard. It is really the best opportunity for real MMOs.
Seems like you are correct!
I'm now very tempted to go give VG another chance.
