RIFT and where I feel it falls short. [Mod Edit]

I was hoping RIFT would rock...and it did until patch 1.1

Now WAITING is the major part of the game.  FAIL.

I left WoW because WAITING was the main passtime.  Waiting for queues.  Waiting for auctions to sell.  Waiting for raid members to get ready.  Waiting for raids to unlock.  WAITING.

 

RIFT is now the same way.  We WAIT for invasions that do not happen.  We wait for planar tokens that don't drop.  We wait for a chance to buy gear that seems unreachable...since the patch. 

The way the game is designed there is NO REASON to do anything but major RIFTS and INVASIONS during the leveling process.  Crafting blows (except for runecrafting)  which was very unexpected.  Quests are ridiculous...unlessit is an instance quest.  No dungeon finder makes instances another WAITING event.  ONLY by defeating rifts and invasion is decent gear available.....AND THEN THEY SCREWED THAT UP with 1.1.

I personally am WAITING for two toons on Faeblight to stop being coinlocked.  Why are they coin locked?  I don't know... none of my other toons are.  Trion can't seem to figure it out either.  They have been locked for TWO WEEKS.  All I get in resp[onse is the same copy paste directions that do not work.

Other fails...mages (OP), rogues(UP) and crafting (practically useless).  Guild banks, customization and the last event.  It took six hotfixes just get the event rewards right!

They seem determined to make the EXACT SAME MISTAKES that AoC, WAR and Aion made.

It's a Theme Park game with similar RNG to WoW, what did you expect.

You may want to take a break from MMOs for awhile... or forever.  Looking over your post I see someone who simply won't be happy with any game.  You hate waiting in ques in WoW, but then complain about the lack of a dungeon finder in Rift.

 

You're playing the game wrong if you think it's all about waiting (sorry, games).  In both WoW and Rift you need to just find something FUN to do, instead of putting yourself on a gear treadmill.  These games are meant to be fun, if the only thing you can focus on is getting to cap and getting geared then you won't have fun, you'll just grind the levels, then the gear, and then wait around.  Seems like this has nothing to do with Rift and everything to do with you.

 

Try something with instant action.  I suggest Left 4 Dead if you havn't tried it yet.  takes less than 1min to get into a game and it's pretty much non-stop action from there out.

i get the feeling that your a "i wish everyoen was always ready to do what i want when i am ready kinda person"  and playing games in a social space just doesnt work like that.

I did  not expect the last event to shutdown the gearing process.  I did not expect them to make a new Bright Wizard like in WAR with the EXACT same OPness.  I did not expect to have a crafting sytem with LESS utility than WoWs sytem...runecrafting is the exception.

I did expect to have fun and I did until the patch.  Now all I can do is wait.

To bad this site doesn't have a button that you can just autofill replies with the same thing. It's always game x sux, wow is better.

I mean I understand those people who make these posts, atleast a few of them just want to state their mind and just doing so in an already excisting "whine thred" probably wont be read. So hence there are x amount of new whine threads every day.

People are looking for that magic feeling wow once gave.

Sadly some of those search it in these new wow killers and are just doing it wrong.

 

This guy is not wrong. He just play the game completly wrong and like so many others who played mmorpg's for several year really should stop playing for a while or take them for what they are.

Rift is fun for alot of people and it can be played and enjoyed in several ways. Some people find the way and some people don't.

This started off a making a decent point about the game.. then ended in a rant.. which really nullifies the whole thing.

While i dont play Rift anymore due ot a huge amount of problems its certainly has way less "waiting" then most mmo's so you really need to take a break from MMO's....maybe forever.
