Sony stole my money.

OnigodOnigod Member UncommonPosts: 756

Today i logged in my paypal acount wich i rarely use becouse i needed to see what transaction ID my purchase for Darkfall was that i bought months ago.

I have a decent amount of money saved up and i check my bank acounts and stuff like that very rarely.

then on my paypal i saw that Sony has taken 1 week long every day so 7 times 40 euro of me so 280 euro in total.

The only thing i bought from sony is dc universe and i canceled my sub after a few days of playing becouse (i wont go in details) of the worse support i have even seen.

i am very sure i did not buy anything else from them and especially not 7 days in a row 40 euro each day.

Anyone has a idea what i should do about this becouse i wont just let them go with my money and i dont want to deal with this issue with their support team since staring at a couple of ants would be less of a  time waste  then talking to sonys support team.

i really doubt this.. if you state clearly that the amounts were unauthorised withdrawals from your account.. they have to deal with it. I use paypal a lot.. and any disputes they tend to deal with very seriously. image

Sounds like somebody has hacked your account and is using the station store. Any type of transaction I have ever done with SOE results in an email saying, you did this on this day for this amount.

    Change our password!!!

Oh and I use paypay all the time you have to set up a subscription payment,  so something about this don't seam right, as every time I done a paypal transaction I have to enter my password and all to make it go through unless its set up as a re-occuring subscription.

And you have a real problem now. I just checked and unless you got a paypal credit card, SOE does not accept paypal,  unless you went via steam, steam takes paypal but not SOE.

i dunno sony is pretty much a bastard i have an account with them told them to cancel free realms for my daughter they said they did and the months i didnt play they charged me for they wouldnt refund because i called in when i did not then when MGT shut down on me in the middle of the draft several times they made me resubmit several forms and said they would not reimburse me till i got a better sound card because that was my problem not the fact the everyone on MGT has had this problem before me

I had a hacked SOE acct -- and got an email from SOE (as I always do with any StationCash purchase)

I contacted SOE immediatly and they resolved the issue with no charges to me

its worth contacting SOE to see why you were charged

SOE has Livechat you can use to contact them about billing issues

i have checked my acount history and it shows nothing about me buying something everyday 7  times in a row i have used steam to purchase dc universe that is how i used paypal.

i sended a mail to them and await their response till i take furter actions but i am 99 percent sure they wont fix it

  • ReklawReklaw Member UncommonPosts: 6,495

Even before you have checked your paypall acount didn't you recieve emails from paypall for the "purchases"?

Everything I buy using paypall I get a email, that X amount is drawn from my paypall acount towards company X.

I also only put amounts of money on my paypall account that I want to use instantly, I used to use my CC but since that is unlimited I feel using paypall is much safer this way, cause no company can withdraw anything from it this way.

    But the following confused me......

    in your OP you state:

"then on my paypal i saw that Sony has taken 1 week long every day so 7 times 40 euro of me so 280 euro in total."

    Then later in the topic:

"i have checked my acount history and it shows nothing about me buying something everyday 7  times in a row "

It's on most newsites, the PS3 network got hacked to a big extent. I haven't read it throughly but it might be what you're suffering from.

When you debit something from your account, PP sends you an email notification. Unless there is an email on your account which isn't yours, you should have gotten the notifications 'long ago'. If you got hacked and someone changed the email, you would have gotten a notification that  the old email was changed and 'if you didn't authorize....contact immediately'.

In any event, contacting Sony is probably the best way to start.

Thus far i dont think there have been ANY reports of accounts hacked. Just that the service was taken down to clean out the bad guys.

And the OP said his issue took place 'long time ago'. Paypal would immediately addres something that happned since last Wednesday..the day of the above Sony hacking.

SOE took a 3 month subscription time from 2 of my accounts £60.00 ($120)

they took it of my credit card 6 months AFTER i had stopped playing one of their MMO's

They claimed i never cancelled, yet the 2 accounts were dormant for 6 months, i had tried

to log into the accounts only a few days after they had expired to check they had cancelled.

I couldnt get my money back, even though i had not logged into the website or the game to

purchase prepaid game time, so they had no electronic proof, nor did i have any emails

confirming i had ordered the gametime, yet they got away with it.

I have never had an issue with credit/debit cards or paypal with ANY online shop or other game

company before or after this event.

I would just keep calling and yelling at their CSR's about it. They tried to do this to me, but in the end I won the battle. Just don't give up hope.

Be alright if it was a semi good game you got charged 7 times for, but this is DC universe, the biggest chunk of fail I've ever had the misfortune to log into.

But 7 times 40 euro? only payment i made to them was buying dc universe wich was not 40 euro as far as i know.

I find it a very odd amount of money that they toke 7 days in a row.

Something here is not adding up,  Paypal always sends you an invoice.  Unless that has been hacked and using another email address to send those too as well.  So I have to question why you never got invoices, for those purchases.  I would be talking with paypal and they have live chat durring normal operation hours and a 1800 number on off hours.  This is on paypal's site, you got 180 days to file a dispute,  well DCUO not been around that long. The results displayed above are from the past 180 days.  Here call this number its there CS resulotion dispute number 1-888-221-1161.

Going to soe not going to help you you have to go to steam.  Steam got your money and sent it to SOE,  so this is something you steam and paypal is going to have to work out. SOE does not accept Paypal.

So I have to wonder about the entire thread after looking at the policies over at paypal.  What I would be doingif I were the op is calling that 1800 number I know they have it you know they have it.  And I would be letting them know how unhappy I was.

It should be easy to get bogus charges identified and removed.

its not that odd.  i toke 7 days in a row every week.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
