For me it would be the following:

Goldeneye 64 – loved the mission where you had to sneak into the Russian base through the bathroom

Half Life – Just a great story, and single player game. Also was a great change from all the Doom and Wolfenstein clones.

Dark Forces: Jedi Academy – Nothing like dual wielding light sabers and beating the crap out of other players.

Day of Defeat- Spent way too much time killing German and Allied players in this WW2 mod. This one will always be the best Half Life mod ever made to me, to bad Activision ruined it with the 4.0 release

    .

Battlefield Bad Company 2 – Great squad base combat that is really fun to play with friends.

Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat mod – Spent many hours with friends killing each other in this mod. The apache helicopter was a complete pain in the rear, but you got to respect people that could fly that mobile death trap.

For new ones that are coming out, I am looking forward to Brink and Battlefield 3.

    Red Orchestra hands down.

I hate all the other FPS games where you have a noob  helper (crosshair) and bunnyjumping and healthpacks scattered all around the map.

If it's not broken, you are not innovating.

I wasn't a fan of FPS games until L4D. L4D and L4D2 are my favorites.

The new shooters just dont seem to have the playability / fun anymore :(

Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2 by a mile. Those games revolutionized the FPS and nothing has come close ever since. It required a lot of player skill and teamwork to win games. And for the time, 64 on 64 was quite impressive and worked pretty well even going through a 56k modem. Man, I really miss those games. I wish some dev would just do a total clone of Tribes 1 with up-to-date graphics and sound and I'd be a happy camper.

Portal. That counts, right? We were shooting portals.

If not, I'd have to go to with the stalker series, too.

In the same vein as TF2 and Microvolts, Monday Night Combat for 360 has been my favorite shooter in the last few years.

Duck hunt on Amiga, with a joystick! Spent countless hours as a kid shooting ducks lol!

Tried it again like a year ago, and damn, the sounds in the game are so annoying, but back when I was a kid I don't remember it annoying me at all :P

Used to play A LOT of Medal of Honor: Spearhead online multiplayer.

The best FPS I WILL EVER PLAY, though, looks like it will be BATTLEFIELD 3. ;)
