Guild Wars 2: The Norn Invade PAX

It's now official: The Norn are invading PAX East this year, coming in full force on twenty machines in a brand new demo for Guild Wars 2. MMORPG.com Lead Writer Bill Murphy has a few thoughts on these denizens of the cold country. Check them out and then add a few of your own.

In a lot of ways the Norn remind me of Arnold’s portrayal of Conan the Barbarian/Cimmerian/Destroyer. I don’t mean that in a derogatory way either. As a people they’re absolutely resolute and tenacious. They’re stalwart, hearty, and fiercely determined to succeed. They’re also, and it should prove fun, the loudest and rowdiest of the pub patrons. They’re born hunters and combatants, and they hold a deep respect for many things, even as they kill them.

The only trouble with this that I can’t see myself playing a Norn Necromancer as I originally planned and I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to do as much, but maybe someone here knows better than I.

Classes aren't limited by race so you will be fine, you'll just need to create some suitable lore if you're going to RP

Classes and races have nothing to do with each other. A Norn Necromancer is just as possible as an Asuran Warrior. I also don't see why it would be an odd combination:

I hope you wil be able to adjust frame of male Norn, I don't like that default double wardrobe size. I want to be a weakling !

I wouldn't call that badass so much as....Dahmer-esque *grimace* That guy always gives me the creeps.

I realize it's probably just the lighting, but I admire that Norn for having pink hair.  It's a look that says 'I might be a muderous psychopath who raises the spirits of the dead to devour your soul, but I also love bunnies and Hello Kitty'

Norn don't need to invade PAX EAST because we are Norn!  I tell ya, everytime I see the Norn the 300 Movie theme song just kickstarts in my head. The Norn are truely impressive and intimidating. I love it!

I'm completely taken with Rift at the moment but keeping an eye on GW2 too... cannot wait for some more teasers and articles because I think Anet are going to nail this one.

 

I was really excited about GW2 a while back but now I've taken some distance because when release/beta is 6 months away it is too hard to sustain the excitement.
