Well, you don't know if thats a kid for sure. You can't take that kind of stuff out on a game. Some people are really jerks. Also I'm tired of people using the word "noob" as an insult rather than a rank or complment. It's gotten so bad that girls even say the word "noob" and you know how they don't know what the word means image. If it's an insult, they will use it. In a message board I used to be in, a chick with 157 post called another chick with 1248 post a noob and the topic wasn't even game related. The word had nothing to do with the topic. All I can say is the chick with 157 is the noob compared to the chick with 1248 post

In Kal Online, one cocky guy called me a noob and I dueled him and owned him. I said "who's the ass now?" and he just went talking other wack disses and I just ignored him.

Even if you go to EverQuest II, it's going to be the same thing becuase some people are like that and all you have to do is just walk away from it. Don't say your done with a game becuase some one called you a name and ruined your day or your pride in the game. Just ignore and move on, becuae some are jelious that people will be stronger and more power then they are.

Am I the only one who sees the humor from these posts where people are leaving a game cause "a kid" made fun of him and he doesn't wanna play the game anymore?  Sometimes you really wonder who really is the kid?  the person doing the insulting or the person being insulted and cries about it and takes it personal.

But maybe it was really a shitty community that drove him away.

On the topic of "noob" in Everquest II...

I have been playing since the game opening up to general public and have NEVER been called a noob, even when I was or acting like a new player. So if there are people who call someone that, I am very fortunate that I have never come in contact with one.

Well if words really hurt you that badly, especially coming from some kid, then i guess there's nothing for me to say.  at least say the game is boring and hide your shame or something.  don't come out admitting that a kid hurt your feelings.

When i played WoW (account ended about 3 days ago), I was called a noob almost every day for having different opinions than others.  It gets annoying after the 50th time. image   (i was playing horde, i heard they were the worst of the 2, so it may not exactly be an accurate measure of everyone, but i still don't want that type of community image)

    *giggles*

I am not playing WoW or EQ2, I find this argument a little funny, beside been nasty braggers, they dont do anything wrong.  Some folks leave a group and then loot the quest item and let them in need to kill the mobs again, this would be more the type of piss off stuff.

Anyway, if you want to bash WoW, you should be aware that WoW is about to reach it peek and from there, it will spiral downward(will not die soon, even if they lose 90% players they will remain open).  EQ2 will keep progressing, slowly, but certainly.  Before Guild Wars is live, WoW will be well advanced on the decline in subscriptions, they should either announce that in less then a month or go mysterious about the topic.

*log back into CoH, as the servers are already showing a much higher attendency then a month ago*

wow I never thought I would say this but.....*takes deep breath* i agree with firemagic. ::::03::

although I dont think it needed to be said in that....tone....i have to agree that WoW will most likely stay around for a while. a lot of my friends play WoW and love it, and they have every right to. its a great game, I just personally prefer EQ2. they love it enough to convince me that if there are more people out there like them, and I'm sure there are, then the game will do well for a long time to come. i didnt used to think this but now that i have seen their reactions after a month of playing i am confident it will stay around.

however, i also agree that EQ2 will also continue to grow. the server i am on is always packed with people, and we have a whole lot of fun. i think one of the main problems is that most people are turned off EQ2 without even playing it because of all the negativity expressed towards it by *certain people*. but i think eventually this will all calm down and EQ2 will start to see more and more people come in.

    --------

anyways, back on the topic of the community.

i would have to agree that the community in WoW isn't the best, but it's far from the worst. people generally like to take one bad thing about a game and blow it way out of proportions. the community isn't as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

i really, REALLY like the community in EQ2, however. i have yet to see a mean person (honest - mabye im just lucky). the game is full of people who will help you out without thinking about it. especially when you join a good guild, then you really get to see the full greatness of the EQ2 community. anyone who plays EQ2 and isnt in a guild, i HIGHLY recommend you join one.

As far as the decline of WoW players.  I agree that a bunch of people will not re-suscribe after the free month.  But working in retail,  I can tell you that EQ 2 sales are completely dead, while WoW boxes are still moving as fast as we can get them.   So even if I don`t personnally like WoW,  I can recognize that they are now the number one MMORPG on the market and will probably stay there for quite a while.

I too think that EQ 2 will continue growing, all be it at a slower rate than WoW.  But the exagerated forced grouping and 4 characters per account have lost them a ton of players.

I canceled my EQ2 account recently because of alot of reasons, but maily because SOE completly and uterly does not care about what their customers think, want or because for some reason we get mad after they do the opposite of what they promise. I followed the game for about 2 years while it was in development, i was very excited about all the things they were putting out about the game. Invovative PVP system based on the war between the 2 citys(didnt happen, didnt even put up PVP servers). The BS about the froglok Quest that isnt in the game. The reason the frogs are not available yet is the armor skins for them are not ready. The blatent money grab attempt with the 4 char slots that was complete BS. They nerfed the Artisan class and made it where crafters had to go out and adventure to get supplies. im sorry, SOE will not get anymore of my money (5 plus years EQ1), because they care very little about thier customers we are just $ signs to them, and we will play whatever they put out. I know i sound bitter, but im just very disappointed in all of this. EQ hasnt been good since VI lost control of the game. Im gonna hold out for the folks at Sigil Entertainment (Brad Mcquaid, Jeff Butler and alot of other very talanted people) Vanguard looks like its gonna be great, and i know they give a crap about Customer Sevice from my exp with them in EQ1. im not gonna Hype WoW but im gonna give it a try, need something to feed my addiciton image

this isnt a flame i realy do want to know where you got your info that the reason the frogloks arent in the game is becasue the armor skins arent done. did you read it on a dev forum or is it just something yu have come up with on your own.

I agree. there aren't many sales atm coz many people dont  have machines good enough to run eq2 pleasantly, so when their computers break or something along those lines and get a new one, then sales will boost. For now only the ones who can play eq2 coz they've got uber computers. EQ2 wasnt really meant for it's prime around this time, it's a game that will excell in the future.
