Well, strictly speaking there aren't any PvE servers(as far as I know). All of the servers are typical of the majority of NCsofts games. Some areas of a given server are less gankfest than others. But realistically speaking, if you play Aion, you are going to end up in PvP, no matter if you want it or not. Which of course, many do not, which is one of the factors involved in Aion having trouble maintaining its subscription numbers in the West. It seems that NCsoft will never learn the difference netween the Eastern and Western markets <shrug>
yeah i really enjoyed playing until i reached about lvl 20 then found it impossible to quest cos of high lvl players ganking me..i,m not the best at pvp but i gave it a go.2 pve servers would have been good for this game for peeps like me.but then its my fault i knew wot i was getting when i subbed.shame though, so much potential for good pve servers as well.
The game has become, indeed a PVE ( excluding Abyss and lvl 50 + areas where there is all the PVP now ) . Now you have a shield in Eltnen/Morhain which blocks around .. can't really remember right but I guess 60-80% if an enemy attacks you and in Heiron/Beluslan 20-40% again, can't remember right ! So I can safely say, that you can now quest in peace in any of thos zone. My brother a SM was gangked by a full party of Elyos! Well , he even killed their cleric, then runned away
The point is that everyone who didn't had a problem playing Aion, but was dissapointed by the : grind/gang , need to just give it another try !
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
That's well put. I enjoy Aion as a PvE game but I'm really not a PvP player and when you force players into PvP when they're not keen, the inevitable happens..nuff said.
If you bought Aion then you know its a PVP game...there is no forcing. If you don't like pvp don't buy Aion period.
As you should know the west market is just a supplement to NCsoft booming east market. They don't need millions of subs in west to have a successful MMO. That measure success as a whole and not just our west market. Also NCsoft has plent of games that the west loves already. Linege, Cityof heroes, and Guildwars to name a few. I think they know what the west wants and maybe is was the Aion team that dropped the ball in the begining.
