Need help choosing a class (half solo/half group)

So, first, my play time due to real life circumstances is really random. Sometimes I can play for 15-20 min, 30 min, 1 hour...2 hours...off/on sometimes during my play time, and afk a lot...makes grouping harder. Having said that, I am able to group quite a bit still and when I do, I prefer healing. Not big into tanking.

So, with half solo/half group...I was trying to decide between Shaman and Blood Mage for the most part.

Disciple is always recommended, but I'm not big into martial art based classes. I played one before and heh, not my type of class. And clerics make me fall asleep.

BM and Shaman both look fun, though. My problem with Blood Mage, is I ask in-game, and everyone says they are near the bottom of the classes that can solo. Which if thats true, then I'll just make a BM as an alt and use him just to group when I can, or if I don't feel like playing my main. On the bright side, BM look very unique and a challenging class...but not being able to solo at later levels would really suck. As I would then only be able to play my main half the time. And I don't want to spend money just to play half the time.

Shaman on the other hand I've heard solo great, and do great in groups too...thats a huge bonus. If thats true, they sound better as a class than BM. Even if BM sounds more fun. Since they can do everything. So I wouldn't be limited to my playtime (which sometimes I lack, and if I can only play say 30 min...it would be lame if I spent half that time not being able to do anything). And yeah I know Shamans don't get "good" till level 15, since thats when they choose their animal.

Other interesting classes are the Druid...but I've heard they are only used for berries later on. Ranger is a lot of fun, but I want to try something else, as I've already played one on a previous trial. Those two are more for kiting, but I like them. Dread Knight looks like a lot of fun as well, and I've never tanked before. Sorcerer looks fun, but I would rather be a Druid. Bard looks like a lot of fun, but my friend is going to make a Bard...so...Warrior is well a Warrior, my friend wants to be a Warrior as well for his main/alt. And I'm not big into Rogues

So TLDR

I'm interested in Shamans, Blood Mages and Dread Knights mostly. Druids look fun as well for an alt.

And my definition of being able to solo, is I can solo inside or outside...not having to rely on kiting or being outdoors. And being able to solo at later levels, without relying on a group.

And for groups, I'm really good at healing...DPS is nice...never did tanking before, but it looks fun/exciting

I went with Dread Knight for my first trial character.

I think trying out tanking will be interesting, since I've never really tanked before. Do something different than go with the usual. Plus, they look a bit different than most tank classes I've seen.

I've had a great time in groups as wella s solo with the Druid and with my Shammy.  I have a DK that is great as well.  It's hard to find a tank in VG from time to time...so I'd roll a DK if you don't mind tanking.  Fun class and you'll always be in demand as far as groups are concerned.

*Edit* Didn't see you had already rolled a DK.  Are you enjoying it?  I'e always preferred a class that has some healing abilities.  The Shaman is fun since it wears med armor and has great heals.  If you need someone to group with hit me up on my main, Mictlanis and I'll give you some of my alt names.   Have fun!

My character is a dread Knight and it solos very well. I do a bit of tanking but use it mostly because I solo and I like the resiliance.

So far he is nice. He is not even level 10 yet, though...so I can't really comment. And I guess they don't get "good" till like 20 or 25 or something.

I did hear Dread Knights solo well (like Sovrath said), but I heard they are good for groups too. So thats a bonus. Will definitely be different than my other types of classes I usually make...since I usually for heals or dps, but like I said, will be a nice change of pace.

My friend who I'll group with a lot of the time (well, when he is on) is a Bard...hopefully DK+Bard is a nice duo. He has a Warrior too that he likes to play.
