    i don't know, as many as they want. that is how they are making money, with no monthly fee. they are planning releasing an expansion every 6-7 months.

    Buying an expansion every once in a while will still be cheaper then the monthly fee.  Plus you get more content!

    yes. and the expansions should only be $20-$30 so it will definietly be cheaper.

    What kinda crazy expansions do you buy? Expansions are ALWAYS cheaper than the full game.
    (Difference is if its game + expansion then of course it more expensive)

    Each expansion is supposed to be a "chapter" in the story. Each chapter is supposed to be as big as the original. If that's true, I would have no problem even if the did charge $50 for them (and even $50 every 6-9 months is still less than montly fees + more freedom). Nobody knows exactly how much it'll be, just that they're said to be "competetively priced", which probably means competetive vs other xpacs.

    well as long as I don't need them to play the game I'm happy, but I will probably buy them anyway because this game is so ****ing great. and for the original question. maybe they will release 7-13 expansions. and I will but them all.image

    hrhr i hope they take good time and great effort in making even better exp pack.

    The game is realy good and i thank them alot for making it a no monthly fee cuse i dont realy trust creditcard/billing based games :(

    gw is out for the WHOLE wrold... (hint-- the open beta was called "world-preveiw event"

    about the exp..... i do belive the exp will be well made because they have a half a year to make it

    It cant be out yet cuse then my local gaming shop would have called me :/ and if it was out why would there still be Beta test events? ;)
     I was thinking about the absolute Full game.

    The final beta will be in Feb.  The official release will be in March.  As for the expansion, I don't care about the cost, I'm buying them anyway.  image

    Regardless of exp prices im getting them all as soon as they come out, but it is nice to know GW has stated that even if you dont buy a single exp you can still participate in there events (you wont need a certain exp to do so)   YOU ROCK GWimage

    I agree with most of the voiced opinions. Expansion packs will be around $20-25 and will add an extra chapter/region to the existing world, pretty mich like Anarchy Online.

    Also think of new monsters, classes, weapons and so on. Well, of course you already know the principle of expansion packs! ;) And they will go opn and on (like M:TG) until the graphics become completely outdated and/or there's a WG2 or people get bored.

    I was just wondering if their is going to be so much expansions, how much space will each expansion take on hard disc?
    Hmmm I hope not too much since I will have to buy new hard drive then.

    I don't really agree, I think that the expansions will either be the same price or a at least ten dollars less.  The way it sounds is that the expansions will be a continuation into a bigger story than just upgrades of items and characters.  They way I took it was that each expansions was almost a game by itself.  I could be wrong.

    You will NOT be required to purchase any exp packs if you choose.  The exp packs expand on the storyline and add some new areas and whatnot.  GW website says that you will still be able to interact with all other players (just not in the new areas or storyline) in common areas.  If you just want to PvP or GvG combat, you won't need to purchase any exp pack.

    And you can skip exp packs if you want too.  You don't have to buy the first 3 to get the 4th one.  You can just buy the fourth one if you only wanted it.

    I have yet to see an exp pack as expensive as the original game.  They are generally 10-30 dollars cheaper than the original, but as was said, even if it was 50, it's still cheaper than paying a monthly fee.

    You know what..

    If they are going to make allot of expansions, I hope they will make the boxs look appealing!

    I mean, really use great marketing strategy by having them looking cool and feel the same!

    Many game sequels/expansions have stupid box arts which does not look like the original and sort of destroys the coolness feel of having a collection..

    sigh.. :P
