Please - we do not ever and I mean EVER take money from game developers except in the form of banner advertising.  You can make all the false accusations you want but it still won't make it true.

The last company we disabled the rating-meter on was one of our top 4 advertisers of all time - we don't care if they are paying ad customers or not - if you ask your users to come over here and abuse the hype/rating system your meter will be disabled and votes deleted. 

This is the end of the story, what our policy has always been so get over it.

The person responsible for this at Perpetuum has admitted this was a mistake, we really appreciate the honesty and we will get the hype meter back online when we feel the issue has cooled down enough to prevent another problem.

I explained this in the other thread...it is OK for a company to tell people to hype/rate games over here - but they cannot tell the users HOW to vote.  In this case the mod over there told people to get the score over an 8.0 - which pretty clearly told the user how he wanted them to vote.

First of all, there is no issue of corruption here. No one pays us anything to utilize any of our site's features, and this includes the hype meter. The reason ratings have been shut down (temporarily, I might add) is not due to the fact that a developer encouraged their fans to vote on our hype meter, that is not an issue.

Where we draw the line is when a developer asks to hit a specific hype goal or offers rewards to their players to vote up the game. This is considered manipulation of the tool and in order to rectify the situation we have removed ratings cast from the date the original request thread was started and have disabled ratings temporarily.

MMORPG.com and the Perpetuum team have resolved this issue, and I can assure you that you will all be able to vote on the game's hype rating soon enough.

You may not agree that this was considered abuse, but this is our policy and we will be taking steps to make it clear so there is no confusion going forward.

With that said, I am going to lock this thread and create a quick sticky thread clearly explaining the situation. We, and I'm sure the folks at Perpetuum, would love for you all to get back to discussing the actual game.
