Or maybe because people don't obsess over games the way we forum lurkers do. I've even seen in this in action when it comes to movies. I'll hype a movie to my parents or my wife and they'll have a small bit of interest, but until the movie actually comes out, they will literally forget what I had hyped ROFL, drives me nuts.
