 Greetings.
 With this post, it goes public that Ankh Entertainment is working at a new Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, named Legacy of Cyaron. I think you might wonder, what's so special at it? I mean, there are dozens of teams starting creating their own MMORPG. Well, it's simple. When we created Ankh Entertainment we promised to create games only for passion, for the gamers, to create unique games like no others. Of course, these are great thoughts, but believe me, I can guarantee for every member of the staff, and with our ambition we will succeed in the end.
 We have two games in development in this moment, an Adventure/RPG that will be out after March 2005, and a MMORPG. Starting this post for it, I'll give some details of our project.
 Legacy of Cyaron is the 1st Fantasy - SciFi MMORPG. And with this, I am not reffering at a world mixed with a few elements from the two genres. Since I cannot fully explain this, I will make a brief preview of the game.

* Based on the Infinity Universe (created by Ankh), a set of rules & worlds, that we hope will be a strong competitor of Dungeons & Dragons. What is special about it, is that it can have medieval worlds, fantasy, SciFi ... basically everything.

History

The Beginning<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

 

A long time ago, there was a land where only gods could live. It was named Cyaron and it was one of the most beautiful places in the Universe. From here gods ruled over their lands in peace and all was quiet. Until one day, when Taros broke the sacred laws of the gods. He wanted to be the single ruler of Cyaron, and his malefic thoughts overpowered his good side. He had been observing the other gods to find their strong points and weaknesses and at the festival of magic, that was hold to celebrate the peace between the gods, his offense began.
Stunned, the majority of the gods was taken by surprise and fell into the trap, which made them the slaves of Taros. Only the purest of them escaped. Taros awakened vile magic to his side and from then he became the Trickster, the god of evil. His gaze turned his new conquered lands from their youthful beautifulness to dead and putrefied landscapes in which death reigned supreme. Some of the captured gods saw in Taros their new master and began following his Dark Arts. The Trickster infused others with dark powers during his rituals, which compelled them to serve him. Only Revanna, the goddess of dreams, escaped from his dungeon by sleeping and dreaming she had freed herself. She managed to return to the exile.
Some of the captured gods couldn’t be transformed and wore sentenced to death. The other gods formed an alliance to counter attack Taros, but his influence grew stronger and stronger and they were always defeated. But with the return of Revanna they found out about Taros’ weak spot. The goddess also told them about his plans to kill the remaining incorruptible gods. They came up with a bold plan that could be their salvation or their doom. They were to save the gods of water and air from The Trickster’s influence with the help of dreams. Dreams that had to break or disrupt the flow of energy between Taros and the artifacts, which were created to link him with the thoughts of the other gods. By doing this they had to use all of their energy and they couldn’t fight
Taros who wanted to take their lands and their powers. Helped by his first servant, Tentios, he found a way to destroy immortality of others and then reabsorb it into his own. Tentios was an infused god not one who willingly gave up himself, he was controlled by Taros. The fact that Tentios was one of the most powerful gods before Taros made him an important asset for The Trickster. The gods that remained faithful to the Divine Ways thought that by freeing some of their comrades, Taros will redirect all his efforts to destroy them, and they will then have to act swiftly to free the remaining of their brethren as the god of evil will be overtaken by his fury. So it happened, and mad by their actions Taros attacked the remaining enclave of good. Meanwhile the Divine gods sneaked and broke the shackles of the infused gods, which felt to the ground. Sensing this, Taros sent Tentios to take care of the other gods and to bring him their souls. A huge battle started and Tentios was able to defend against his former brethren attacks. But in the meantime some of the freed gods recovered and started battling against Tentios. The goal of the Divine Gods was to free Tentios not to kill him. They wanted to do the same with Taros.
But now The Trickster, with the energy that he used to control the other gods, augmented Tentios’ powers. Now Tentios’ powers and the sum of all the opposite gods powers were equals. Realizing that their plan has failed, the good gods united their powers for one more time for the last attack. Thinking that this was his hour of glory and seeing that most of his enemies were wounded Tentios started battling frenetically never thinking that he will lose. He opened the gates of the citadel and ordered the attack. Cautious the other four remained inside. Tentios’s first strikes made the good gods to retreat even more, but Heatheo sneaked behind Tentios back and because he was enraged he couldn’t sense him nor hear the warnings of the other gods. Heatheo took advantage of this and stroke Tentios’s artifact and severed his link with Taros (Is thought that if someone will ever find the plate of Tentios and repair it as he will wear it that one will become immortal, but he will have to trade some of his wits for this). Seeing this Tentios turned and stroke Heatheo and cut off his right hand, the hand with which he was struck. From there on Heatheo became the god of thieves. Losing his powers he remembered his life before the Enslavement, but flashes of Taros’ magic still remained buried deep in his memory. In one moment he was threatening the Divine Gods, one moment he talked as nothing happened between them, as Taros’ betrayal never took place. He started laughing and afterwards crying as good or evil magic flowed through him. He was insane. This is how Tentios became the god of madness and of all those who tried to do mad or impossible things. Now all was lost for the Divine Gods. The severance of the powerful bond between Tentios and Taros took the form of a powerful explosion that covered all of Cyaron. An endless void emerged and sucked the overbalance of evil power thus stabilizing the fields. Heatheo’s act impressed the liberated gods which swore not to battle for any of the sides anymore.
Only four gods still served Taros, Ma’kjin the goddess of death, Fafnir the god of the Underworld that was the master of Jadentoth the god of penitence and sin and Dakkon the god of torments. In time alliances were made to achieve the ultimate goal. Three kinds of gods existed … the ones who used the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Divine Ways in their aid, the ones who followed the Dark Arts and the gods that just wanted a peaceful place to stay, the neutral ones. But one day Taros returned from his quest that he had failed. The back flash caught him by surprise and delayed his return. Meanwhile the other gods took claim of what returned to flourish after the Cataclysm. The neither places that neither wore nor good aligned nor evil wore transformed by the neutrals into their own as they could live on both divine or dark, because of their divine nature, but tainted souls. Taros saw that it was nothing he could’ve done, still he had a third of the land, the place that fell into the reach of his citadel. Time passed and he wanted revenge. Only he knew of a small portal that remained behind the Cataclysm and it still contained the power of the void. He decided to use it against the other gods.
It was a great battle that destroyed the fragile equilibrium of Cyaron. In the middle of the battle Taros’ most important weapon, the Soul Taker fell into the portal. Seeing that this can even kill their immortal souls, each alliance opened random portals to take them to a new world where they could continue their lives. Vespa the light god seeing that his divine gods are wounded and cannot leave in time sacrificed himself and slowed the destruction of Cyaron for as long the others could escape. He is remembered today in every divine temple or shrine as the life giver. 

 

The New World

 

When they exited the portals, all the gods reached the vast and untouched world of Mortik. It was a new land for them, a new beginning. The evil gods entered the world through the northeast corner, also known as The Wastelands, which quickly became warped with their powers. The Dark Abyss was spawned and the Black Citadel with its spires appeared above the Underworld. The divine gods entered at Terra to the south. With the death of Vespa, the god of life, Adriel became the leader of the divine gods and he was recognized as an icon for virtue, honor and truth. He was followed by his love Nemira, the goddess of destiny and love, Hrovash the keeper of the Gates of Heaven and Gen’tak the god of creation. They quickly spread throughout the land … Heatheo followed, but he didn’t like to stay in one place so he chose to roam around the vast world of Mortik. Tentios landed in the Upper shell but as Heatheo he goes from place to place like a madman, never staying too much. It is thought that he brings insanity and disease, because of his past with Taros, but others think that he corrupts only the ones that are evil, thus showing to everyone their true nature. The other gods came in at the great mountains to the west (western mountains), where they settled in the protection of the mountain, having the peaceful lands they always wanted. For’vak the god of fire settled deep within the bowls of the earth. The god of mining, Nistil and smithing, Zeletac went in the Northern heights where they began to harvest Mortik’s rich metals and minerals. This became known as the Azure Mine later on. The god of fishing, Morilla, came to Lake Terili and the Northern Sea. The sea from the south also became known as the Sea of Wrath, after the great waves caused by the forging of the palace of Nimue the goddess of water. In the clouds there was Hyvan the god of air. Along his side there was Jinta the goddess of archery and Fantasia the goddess of dreams.  In the Great Plain Ynthar the god of earth and restoration settled. Elei the goddess of enchantments and magic and Trelis the god of speed traveled in the desert of the east and the Eastern Mountains. 

 

The Creation

 

With the gods settled and expanding their territories, their destiny was shown. The divine and the evil gods met once again. As they began to fight their powers turned up rocks creating an enormous Mountain range between The Wastelands and the rest of the world. With the acknowledgement that their powers would destroy this word like Cyaron, the gods started to create minions that could fight for them. Many species were created, but most could not be controlled, and run wild through out the lands. The most successful creations were the Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Helanomes, Kalanites and Namiens. The gods of mining and smithing created dwarves up in the Northern Heights to gather the wealth and forge it, which is when the Azure Mine first came into use. Elei created the Elves to rule over the woods and be the keepers of magic. Adriel created Humans, to fight against the evil gods creations. But the evil gods to follow their ways corrupted a part of them. The goddess of archery created Helanomes. They lived in the Western Mountains and kept the forces of either side from getting to them. Trelis, the god of Speed, to help keep the peace in the neutral nations, created Namiens. Ma’kjin, the evil goddess of death, created the Kalanites. Other races like orcs, shivans and trolls couldn’t be controlled and roamed the countryside causing mayhem, and still do.

 

The Great War

 

With the armies of the Divine and Evil gods formed, the stage was set for the Great War. The divine forces crossed the Hitay Mountains until the armies finally met in the dark, cursed land. The battle lasted many years, and neither side gave up. In the end they nearly eliminated each other. The remained holy fighters went back to their homes, and the unholy warriors returned to The Wastelands.

 

The Rebuilding

 

With the land now in ruins, people began to rebuild what they had before the war and most of the gods were already forgotten, each race following its own ideals. The dwarves returned to the Northern Heights and the Azure Mine, to continue to acquire and forge the spoils of Mortik. The humans spread all through out the land inhabiting all places. The Elves splintered in three factions and went to the forests in Terra, the hills of Blittern and the Sea of Wrath, and started living isolated from other races. The Kalanites continued to live in The Wastelands, and build up their cities and strength, for when they can fight again. The Helanomes and Namiens still live in the western mountains. People created huge temples where the gods that weren’t forgotten are now worshipped, and all people worship at least one god, and one of the portals through which they came is still there, on the Islands of Gorrath.

 

The Artifact

 

Ten years ago the dwarves from the Azure Mines found a strange artifact when they were searching for minerals. It had a strange form and it looked like an energy field covered it. For two years they secretly studied it, but not being very smart they asked the help of the elves and humans. They were amazed to see the artifact, because they knew that they were the first ones who lived on this planet, when they were created no life form existed. For many years, they tried to find out what the artifact was, but not having any results the researches were abandoned.

 

The Raeas

 

First, strange lights were seen on the sky, only at night. In time they could be seen even in full day. The Elves Elders said they were only the Gods that wanted to come back to control their creations again, to make themselves known one more time. But the people knew it was something more … and they were right. The “strange” lights were only spaceships of a forgotten race, Raeas. They were the ones who first walked on this planet, but their technological evolution left the planet inhabitable. The whole weather changed and they were forced to leave Raea behind. Before they went to look for a new home, they left behind a transmitter. When a superior life form appeared on Raea they will sure find it and activate it. Then, they will know that the planet is habitable again and they will return home. But now, when they reached the destination, they didn’t find the perfect home they expected. They only found a world covered by strange races and no place to stay. Their thoughts were clear; they came to take back their home, no matter how they will do it. And so, a war bigger even than “The Great War” started on the world of Mortik, a war more important than others … a war for survival.

 

The Alliance

Knowing that they are way more advanced technological, the Raeas thought it will be easy too take back their home. As an elf philosopher said, “Need can create strange alliances”. All the gods united to face a new enemy and for the second time they had a common goal – Survival. They had to use all their powers in the war against the Raeas. First, they had to take back the trust of their creations and asked their help, because they knew that alone they couldn’t defend. The gods also created another race, Torens, to help them in the new battles. A new era has begun on the world of Mortik …

    Humans

    Adriel, one of the Divine Gods with the purpose to destroy the Evil Gods, created humans, they are one of the races that populate a vast world of Raea. They can be found almost anywhere. They are very good at learning skills and can become prominent in many trades, but not as specialized as other races. Many become skilled warriors.

     

    Elves

     

    Elves were created by Elei, one of the Neutral Gods to rule over the woods and be the keepers of magic. They are well known for their archery and magical skills. Many can become very powerful. For their wisdom, many seek the Elders. Tend not to live in with other races and can become very secretive and hateful of other races, especially dwarves. After the Great War, during the Rebuilding the elves had an internal power struggle. They separated, following their leaders. As their seat of power was destroyed in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Western Mountains, Sakal led a part of the elves in the thick forests of Terra where their traditions are still kept with sanctity. These elves are known as the forest elves or the high elves and their skin tends to blend with the nature. Aavae led the blood thirsty elves in the hills of Blitern were great cities were erected in the honor of their fallen brethren and war customs are highly valued. These elves are known as the red elves or blood elves. They have red eyes and their hair is thick black. Unani led his elves to the sea. They settled on island far in the Sea of Wrath and relied on trading with their advanced ships, built out of enchanted wood. They live on the shores of the Sea of Wrath, but their capitol is a magnificent floating city. They are the most sociable elves and their race is the one from which half-elves are given birth. They are pale, but their elvish features are the same. These are the moon elves.

     

    Dwarves

     

    The gods of mining and smithing created the Dwarves up in the Northern Heights to gather the wealth and forge it. There are known for their great strength. Many become very powerful fighters, and most become talented miners and smithers. Not the brightest of creatures. Usually dwell in underground areas. They are also heavy drinkers and very hateful of elves. The dwarves are good bards and party all time when they are not in the mine or at war. They are very crafty and tend to learn easy the manual tasks. There are two types of dwarves. The miners are the usual dwarves, but the smithers are a little taller, have bigger noses and tend to grow grey beards so they are called grey-beards. The axe is the usual weapon of the dwarf.

     

    Namiens

     

    Trelis, the god of speed, to help keep the peace in the neutral nations, created Namiens. They are extremely versatile and quick, therefore becoming great masters of martial arts. They have small wings on their back that can carry them for a few seconds, but really only help them jump higher than other races. Due to their speed they have not used many metallic weapons or armor, but some have become masters with short swords.

     

    Helanomes

     

    The Godess of Archery created Helanomes. They are slightly shorter than a human, but taller than a dwarf. Not well educated in the magic skills, but many become extremely successful in business. In combat many become talented archers. They can move quite quickly when the occasion calls for it.

     

    Kalanites

     

    Ma’kjin, the evil goddess of death to resist the Humans attacks, created Kalanites. They are very similar to humans, but have been tainted due to the exposure to evil power. Most are necromancers or pyromancers because of their nature to blend with fire and evil mages and many become quite powerful. But they are also good at fighting and can become very good warriors. The Cast of the Dead, led by Ma’kjin are the necromancers and the Cast of Death Knights is the personal guard of Taros. They have had many wars with the elves and humans. They particularly don't like humans.

      

    Torens

     

    The Torens were created by the power of all gods to help defend their territories, in the war against the Raeas. They have a powerful attack and they’re quite resistant to physical attacks, but they are not smart creatures. They also take more magical damage. The race is a combination between magic and Raeas technologies, being immune at some of their weapons. Having a low intelligence, they can’t specialize in the magic ways, they can’t have many jobs and they can’t use ranged weapons.

     

    Raeas

     

    The Raeas are the old civilization that lived on the Mortik world, with hundreds of years before the arrival of the gods. A race of builders, they created many great cities and their technological evolution was incredible. In less than one hundred of their years, they passed from hovels to skyscrapers and then to buildings taller than a mountain. But everything had its cost, in time their technological evolution slowly destroyed, their own home. And when they realized that it was too late. The air contained dangerous composes, the plants and animals were almost extinct and natural cataclysms began to occur. They were forced to use the remained resources to build great ships that can transport them to another planet. Their scientists worked day and night to realize the ships plans and to find a fast propulsion device. When everything was complete they left behind what they called home and went to look for a new place to live. But before they left, the Raeas left on their planet, hidden very well, a powerful transmitter that can emit even in the other corner of their galaxy.  If sometime in the future, life started again, and intelligent creatures existed, they will surely find and activate it. Then they would know that Raea is habitable again and they can return in the place where they once called home. With the arrival of the Gods and the creation of their races, this thing happened and the Raeas received the transmitter’s signal. But now, when they reached the destination, they didn’t find the perfect home they expected. They only found a world covered by strange races and no place to stay. Their thoughts were clear; they came to take back their home, no matter how they will do it. But not all Raeas wanted to reclaim their old territories by wars and blood. There were Raeas that thought they can live in peace with the races from Mortik. This created several small fights between them that lowered their defense. The Gods took advantage of this and started an assault on their ships and bases on the planet. The attacks lowered even more the raean defense and it caused a mass retreat from the planet. The Raeas wore hit very hard by this, but there was still to come. While they were rebuilding their fleet and troops, Endar, the rebel’s leader, stole two battle ships and led his people to the surface where they established a new city. He wanted to show to everyone that they can live in peace with the Gods and their races. Endar’s city soon became a place for all races on the planet, a thing that showed that war is not the only solution. Others Raeas followed his example and left behind the war and started to make colonies like him. The Elder Raeas realized that the betrayal of Endar was a great tragedy that left them incapable of ship repairing and space traveling. Because of that they landed on Raea and used their remaining ships to create a great capitol city that soon became surrounded by other cities. The Elders wanted to go back to space to their new home, but they were unable because now Raea didn’t contain anymore of the rich mineral that they used to power their engines when they left. So they decided to remain here and recapture their planet and destroy all the gods. The rebels expanded much, and live in peace with the other races. But between them, there still were Raeas that had their old beliefs, which still wanted to live on Mortik alone, only waiting the chance to do it …

    * They are the most technological advanced. They can’t use magic, basing on their advanced technology and intelligence. They don’t pray to any of the gods, because they do not believe in them. They are organized in an early feudal system, which has a powerful monarch at the top of the ranks. This leader is praised as a god (but he isn’t) because he has the ultimate power over what dwells or exists on his territory. This leader rules over all territories of the Elder Raeas, but he gives territories to be ruled by lesser Raeas who become his servants. This servants rule the given land in the name of the monarch, which can remove them if he doesn’t like how they command. Their bodies are frail and because of that they can’t use any type of regular armor. Instead, they use energy shields and bionical upgrades and robots as sidekicks. Because they wore a peaceful race until the encounter with the Gods that made them aggressive, their weapons are evolved, but not radically or powerful because of lack of resources and time to research, internal and external fights and bad leadership which have decreased the power of the Raeas. Also they use implants to boost their fighting as well as other abilities. The Rebel Raeas are a big guild and anyone can join it. The Elders are a separate guild, which battles with the others for supremacy on Mortik. The Elders can’t mingle with others, only Rebels can. But Elders are a devious race that uses spies and in their war they have attracted members of the other races who they have promised gold and riches in exchange for their services. *



    * Description -  Raeas are quite high and tend to grow to heights around 2 meters, but they aren’t heavy and have a frail body. Because of their frailness they use implants and bionic armor to resist in the world of Mortik. They are humanoids; they have 2 legs and 2 arms. Their arms and legs are a bit longer then that of a regular human because the Raeas are taller. Their hands and foots resemble the ones of the humans with some exceptions. Their fingers are longer, have 3 knuckles, don’t have nails and are 6 on each hand. The sixth digit (the one after the pinky) is a little bit smaller and the second one is a little bit longer. Their leg muscles are well developed in the upper part and because of that they can run fast. They have powerful foots that are very prominent because of the ankle. If they use some type of armor their running advantage will disappear if the Raean doesn’t have implants. Also their abdomen is smaller in comparison with the upper torso, which is somewhat better developed. They are thin to skinny. Their skin is of a pale gray. Their heads are well balanced in comparison with their skinny body. Their facial traits are dominated by the face bones, which are protuberating. They have no hair. They have no mouths and use telepathy to communicate. They have eyes, which are deep black (their iris is all black) that are surrounded by white and situated in a deep depression. They have noses, but their noses only blend in with the form of the face and the nostrils are very little and situated in the middle part of the face and can be barely seen. They have ears that have a little pavilion at the base and extend upwards. The ears become more pointed as they rise. The ears are situated on the left and right sides of the face. The ears are angled towards the back of the head. Like elfish ears, but more pointed and little. They don’t have a broad forehead.

    Also, the game will have an unique Magic System (Torens and Raeas can't use Magic), General Skills (Not Available for Raeas) and unique skills for each race. Only the Raeas have an improved skill system, due to their unavailability of the General Skills.
    This is a world that simulates a real economy, a world where you can do basically whatever you want. Think at the game as Anarchy Online and World of Warcraft in the same package, but with a story like Planescape Torment's one. Ah, so I come to the point I wanted to reach.
    Story ... The game will have a deep immersive story, about a girl tormented by strange dreams. She'll soon find out she's possed by a god. Then, a qust to save a life will begin ... * I cannot say more about the story, since it's kept secret :) *

    As for the engine on which the game is built, it's an "in-house" made engine, named The Brute. Here are some of its features, and some screenshots. It's still in a pre-alpha stage, so many... technologies are still yet to be implemented.



    We're currently working on DX9, and as for technologies I could say a few: Normal maps support, Stencil/Soft Shadows, Blooming Effects(HDRI glow), Pixel Shader 2.0, Vertex Shader 2.0 etc.

    Some other features ...

    - average of 500000 - 1500000 poli per scene with dinamic lod for all objects except buildings

    - 10000-50000 trees of 7000-10000 poli with every leaf wind affected

    - 100000-200000 grass blades affected by wind

    - 1024x1024 18 octave fractal clouds with realistic shading and light scatering with light shafts

    - continuous LOD for very detailed terrain and water

    relections for water and realistic phisics with special ocean shader for truly realistic water

    - (? infinite number of) Per Pixel Dinamic Lights using Hemisphere Model and HDRI and normal mapping for all objects (for details)

    - softshadows for all objects

    - volume fog

    - realistic day night transition

    - Complex particle effects with programabile particle motion for secial effects and wether effects.

    - physics - we are aiming for a realisitc simulation close to the Havok2.

    - AI - Semi waypoint flexible system

    The screenshots that you've seen do not show the final quality of the product, this merely being not even a pre alpha of the game. Soon, I hope to post a link with a short preview movie. There you can see the features of the engine, how every rain drop falls into the water, that is affected by this, every leaf, grass blade being wind affected, clouds that behaves like real ones, all this for only a few fps!

    Ok, not to forget, on the Sound/Music part we'll be helped by a relative famous company, so stay tunned ;)

    Ah I almost forgot. Since we're creating games for gamers, we'll think at a paying system, that will make the game, let's say semi-free. We still have to earn some things to improve the servers :)

    woot! yet another MMORPG project at the alpha stage with a couple of screenshots of basic graphical stuff (including obligatory cool looking water shot) and more concept sketches than you can shake a stick at.

    Sorry for being cynaical but I've seen this one too many times now. IMO it's more than likely this will just turn out to be another project that falls before it goes retail.

    You want to impress me with an MMORPG, show me a nearly finished product (ie. beta or better standard).

    *marks another line on the 'developers who announce their projects far too early' side of the board.

     Yes, you have seen this kind of posts so many times. Do you think I don't know this? But trust me, the fact that we have a great team and the support of some great people and companies, makes me believe we won't fail.
     With this post here I just wanted to say "Heya, we exist and we have a MMORPG in development". It's never too early for this. But I guarantee you that in early 2006, you'll have a revolutionary Online RPG to pass time with.
     Yes, you might say that you've heard this a dozen times also, but 'eh ... just trust me. Sometimes, this is the only thing you can do. To trust somebody. ;)

     And as for graphics, yes, in the end it will be "eye-candy". But the Game Design part is the most important atm. I am kinda tired by games made only for the graphics. Why do you think we started to create a new set of rules and worlds? :)

    Sounds like a very promising MMORPG, the concepts are really great. Would be a first, let's hope it will all go according to the plan, I can't wait for this game, it sounds great.

    As probably Djagg was saying, the image of the water is taken from a master thesis project at my university, Lund University.

    You can find the link of the thesis (and also the image) here: http://graphics.cs.lth.se/theses/projects/projgrid/

    It would be quite a extraordinary coincidence, if some screenshot of this new MMORPG would have exactly the same characteristic of a picture of part of this work.

    I heard some more desturbing things about the creator of this new MMORPG. But I won't go into the details yet becouse I'm not the one with first hand experience.

     Greetings.
     I should've cleared this some time ago. I will start saying that yes, that screenshot is taken from there. Why? If you'd see on the site, there are the source codes, being merely a freeware project. In the bottom page, there are also tutorials, how to build that kind of water.
     Our Lead Coder inspired from them, but at this moment, it gives some errors on DirectX 9.0c, errors that will be fixed only the next week. We agreed to post a picture from there because that is how our water looks like, though it will look even better when the bugs will be fixed.

     And why do I have the feeling that you're only trying to bring this project down (something that you will not succeed).
     Tell me, your nickname, sounds very familiar. AryHann ... Maybe because my nicknames are "Aryiam" and "Annah"? Maybe it's just a coincidence. But what troubles me:

And it really intrigues me, how did you see Djagg's post if you weren't here then? And how did you find out about this? ;)

     My tip? Let's just leave the personal problems out of this. Also, you don't know anything about Ankh. First of all, we're currently focusing on the Adventure game, that will be launched in 2005. Until then, Farewell.

    No I'm not Cyaron nor do I know him/her. I'm CyaNox ... No tricks there. And as I already stated is that I only heard some things that does not mean its true. Besides that I look forward to you proving us all wrong. But unfortunatly the first evidence i've seen is not good.

    Again ... I'm not trying to offend or bring down any project. I just want to see the truth. And to get that you sometimes need to go further.

    I am not telling you who my sources are. If my sources think its apropriate to say something they will. Besides that I did not give any "information" so I do not need to verify anything. I only said that I heard something ... Its a shame that people still cannot see the difference between "information" and a "rumor".

    Hi!

    I have spoken with you just once, Annah, on the IRC channel of #planeshift (and it's quite funny, because you mentioned the idea you had on starting this project), and believe me, my nickname is not related anyway to you at all. More, I don't think we have never met actually on PS or ever played together (since I have played it for one month and I am not working for such a team), I haven't expressed any bad opinion about you and your work, I am just giving the source for a picture that you have described as output of your game. I have not anything personal against you, I don't know you and I think it's rather paranoid to think that just giving the original source for a picture means I have something against you. image 

    My observation, (considering that I could have seen the post of Djagg when it was not censored) is due to the fact that I think that if you want to "sell" a product you have to show how the product is.

    Showing a screenshot made by somebody else (even if, your intentions are to do something similar or to use such technique) is, in my opinion, unprofessional. I have learned that you have to show what is working and how is your thing, and if the water thing in your application doesn't work properly, well, you cannot show it until it's working. This is how I personally think.

    I really would like to see how the water real time rendering will be in your game, because I think it's ´pretty interesting to see a real application of such a thesis.

    Btw, I am an italian living in Sweden and I guess the moderators of the forums can check IP of each person posting here and confirming that I am right now writing from LTH, that is Lund Tekniska Högskola (the place where such thesis was developed).

    As you well known, Djagg is not italian and doesn't live in Sweden (a person from Sweden is called "swedish", btw), so I guess it's easy to clarify that I am nor Djagg, neither Cyanox.
