Pets and Crafting?

I'm downloading the free trial for this game now.  I really like games that involve a great deal of immersion.  I know this game lets you have pets, but can you name your own pet anything you want?  I know this game has crafting but can you name your own weapons/armor, like rifle of face raping or something along those lines?  Is everything pretty much already set up for you in game and all you do is go through the motions with crafting via placing items into slots a and b and result c is created?

No crafting is not that robust,  you cannot name pets AFAIK.  

 

I'm sure you'll fit right in with the rest of the community...
