Yesterday we launched version 1.542 of DarkSpace featuring some major improvements to our graphics engine.
We have now implemented HDR rendering and bloom effects, and upgraded the engine to make use of pixel and vertex shaders. We have also added bump map support (although no models currently use bump mapping).
Furthermore, switching the texture compression algorithm to DXT has reduced the client memory footprint, and provided a noticeable framerate increase.
