Recent action in Mortal Online!

thorppesthorppes Member Posts: 452

First off I've noticed a lack of PvP videoes and so have others so I'm sharing this video with you from the forums.

Bit of a background; Myrmidon are a well known PvP guild in MO, the player who is filming is called Sharantil and claims to be one of the best PvP'ers in the game. This fight was against another well known faction called '13' who have built one of the first keeps in the Southwest and recently had a 5g bounty per head placed upon them.

Video link below;

Mortal Chronicles - Players in MO are constantly building and creating their own stories within MO. This feature on the main website is to keep track of political action and PvP between well known factions within the game. Our lovely Bevo being the driving force behind it.

The first offical war has been waging between Forsaken and Wolfzeit. Houses have been destroyed and both have suffered many casualites. Here we see Forsaken's commercial add to sell their intact house. Players ingame expect to see many other guilds who no longer wish to build their own towns to be selling houses at their own rates.

Thievery and MO.

Recently as most of you know this feature was revamped and re-added to the game. Thieves are no longer able to steal heavy items or stacks of items and are limited to being able to steal small amounts. Intelligence of the player now also affects the chance of a sucessful snatch.

There are arguments on both side of the fence reguarding thievery being OP or not quiet effective enough however within days of being re-added the first major steal was made after a player had a house key snatched by MO's most reknown theiving guild.

For those of you who do not play. 1.) 1.7k gold is a huge amount of gold most likely gathered over a few weeks by an entire guild. 2.) Oghmium is the end game material, this is the first sighting of an entire stack of it. Costing tens of thousands of other rare materials and dedication to create. 3.) Tungsteel weapons are of very high quality/worth a lot on the market.

Mortal Radio;

Has now been given it's own Forum section, playing good music (Depending on taste) and featuring two radio shows to date.

-Guild of the week (Tuesday)

-Mortal Focus (Thursday)

Wessex were the first Guild to be feature in GOTW live on radio. A recording on what took place can be found here; http://chirb.it/aMKsA3

Final note; Mortal Online currently has it's bugs and problems along with not enough content. Players understand this already and are aware MO is in it's infancy. This is not the thread to discuss those things.

    Nice compilation of stuff!

    The Mortal Online Chronicles looks interesting.  Though Bevo has been doing something much like this already, this might add a little more juice to it, with Bevo still a driving force.

    I've been following the Forsaken/WolfZeit war for a while now on the forum - it's been entertaining to say the least.

    Nice!  It's rare to get a good glimpse of this game.

    Yes I lived in the same town as both guilds until they couldn't operate out of the same city safely. WZ causes a lot of trouble and tried to claim Wessex were aiding Forsakken which wasn't true but still used that excuse to get two other german guilds to help them at one point. Bevo thankfully cleared that confusion up!

    very nice video. the fighting actually looks pretty intence and a total blast. i can almost feel those spear thrusts :)

    on a separate not i do hope they fix those "dagger on a stick" spears cause right now they are soo OP it's not even funny.

    I agree - I thought the Myrm video was really good - combat can be a real blast, though I'm sure balancing will be a neverending thing.

    On an unrelated note, it looks like realty brokers could be a viable economic activity in the game.  Someone in Forsaken is selling a house, and made a video to promote it - pretty creative!

    It looks and sounds just like one of the realtor shows on a local TV channel.  Very cool.

    (The sales thread: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/50698-house-sale.html#post979508 )

    EDIT: Added the original sales thread.

    I have to admit, that video looked fun--in a twitchy kind of way.  And Kudos on surviving so long.

     wile i also think that that particular person did last a heck of a long time there are few things to take into consideration.

    1) he was allowed to heal multiple times. in a 1v1 fight you almost never get to heal. they see you heal and they interrupt you.

    2) in this game you loose EVERYTHING once you die, and you have to walk back to a priest to be resurected completely naked. so yea one shotting is really not the kind of combat you want here especially once you'v managed to get some good gear. i'm actualy glad it takes a little wile to kill well geared opponents.

    like 11 guilds or something was involved...and this happened just randomly when 2 raids clashed togehter.

    Nice video!

    It definitely shows how nighttime in the game can really add a sense of true chaos to the battlefield.  To me, it makes combat a lot more exciting!
