Question About Starting Skillpoints.

I played EVE about 3 years ago and i remember starting with around 500K SP and i downloaded the trial and all tonight and i only have 56k SP and i'm wondering why this is, and is there some kind of feature CCP implemented to make it fair to new players who start with 50K SP instead of the old 500K, like increased training times til they hit a certain amount of SP or something?
