I like missiles alot, but they really are a pain in the butt to keep up with. Most of the time I end up just using Amarr combat ships, even though I freaking HATE lasers.
missiles works wonders in PVP doesnt it? looks like alot of ppl use it in pvp. seen some Scorps. Rattles and Ravens in some cool pvp vids. but that was a few years ago. personally im a Blaster dude so i rly dont know.
but torpedos are more of an hit-n-run weapon if ur doin solo.
drake is possibly the best BC in the game and it uses missiles. Caracal can lay down some good support dps, raven and typhoon can easily get over 1k dps, although they are kinda annoying to fit, and i wouldnt suggest going solo in them. Pretty much everything larger then rockets isnt bad in pvp i would say (although i dunno about capital ship missiles ...) With the exception of cruise missiles (maybe).

Don't bother with missiles in PvP, they look good on paper but are actually useless, and here's why:
1. signature radius vs. explosion radius -> only effective versus bigger ships 2. speed vs. explosion velocity -> only effective against very slow targets 3. flightime -> takes time befor the damage arrives, while turrets hit instantly
Bombs and stealthbombers are a nice thing, if flown in a well coordinated group of stealthbombers. Pretty useless in solo-PvP. Additionally, bombs can only be deployed in 0.0, so low-sec PvP isn't really possible with them.
Training-time for being effective in a stealthbomber is some 3-4 month.
missiles can reach very high speeds, but yes they work much better agains battleships and larger, but then again with enough skill u can take out cruisers and BC too. Drake is btw a very good missile ship.
but if u decide to go for turrets i can say projectile turrets are awsome, try a Vagabond or a Sleipner. they hit hard and works wonders solo.
Comments
1. Pretty useless out of specialist scenarios
2. useful in 0.0 if fitted with bombs. Dps in small gangs is nice.
3. Evemon should tell you.
