General: Martial Empires: Open Beta Begins

gamigo has announced that the open beta test for Martial Empires has now begun. In transitioning from the closed beta the game has experienced a number of changes and additions, including new regions, UI improvements, PvP tweaks, additional customization options, and improvements to the game's graphics.

Martial Empires is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by cr-space and published by gamigo. While Martial Empires is a fantasy game, Neha, the world the game is set in, is inspired by anywhere from medieval Europe to ancient China. The game features three classes all with their own individual storyline quests, and a number of PvP and PvE offerings for players to enjoy.

So, I usually hate every FTP I have ever played.  Even the popular ones like RoM and Atlantica.  Couldn't get into them.  Figured I'd give this one a shot today, see if it's another stinker.

I'm quite surprised.  The game is actually FUN.  Combat is flashy and visceral.  The graphics are fairly decent as are the sounds(except the voiceovers, those are just horrible, and the translations need work). I'm still playing it instead of logging off and immediately uninstalling like I do with other FTPs.

This bodes well for Black Prophecy, seeing that its the same publisher.

Lol I couldn't agree more on the voiceovers being awful, and what I usually do with F2P games. But I am really having fun with this one! I'm not level 20 yet, but so far I swear I'm having more fun with this one than I had with Aion (which the game is so much like). I've already had thoughts of buying things in this game when the cash shop is available, and I knew I was going to cancel Aion once the free month was over. 

I'm really surprised the game isn't listed on this website yet!
