Thinking of coming back/SM question

luffyownzluffyownz Member UncommonPosts: 50

Hey every1 just wanted to drop a question for the ones that still play this game..I have been playing at launch for about a month and leveled a ranger to 25 but then i got bored.

Now i am thinking of coming back and i am not sure if it's worth it.

Actually i was thinking also to level a Spiritmaster but i remember that SMs were a crappy class at launch and also that their pets couldn't fly in abyss. Has anything of these changed or being fixed? Thanks in advance

SM's do pretty well.  They have 3 fears, pets can fly and play helpful roles in Dredgion / PvP.  Definitely a decent class.

not sure where you got SM was crappy at launch to me they bordered OP, and SM was my main lol. even before the pets could fly i won 90% of my pvp fights, honestly if i lost i would bet money on the fact they had me by alot of levels. i don't recall ever being killed in a 1v1 fight by an even leveled character. but in the abyss i always used Water pet anyway (caster), i found it faster to level by kiting mobs with a dmg pet out rather than have a pet tank. use to love knocking people out of the air with water (fall dmg hurts for about 1/2) then finish them off with dots. the only classes i ever bothered to fear was Clerics and Enchanters and used it mainly just to keep them from healing. as some one esle said pets fly now so no worries.

Sm level very fast if they kite elites and they are the best at soloing elites. with chain of earth you can keep mobs snared indeffinitly while you run around keeping dots on them its very easy. other classes can do it but its a bit messier because there is times their snares wear off before the recast is up(sorc, ranger both the snare wears off before the recast)

I think if you got bored at 25, you will surely get bored again.

I played at launch and quit roughly around 45. I couldn't stand it any more. The game was fun up until 30-35, then it just turned into find-the-best-xp-spot and grind.

Sounds like I'm complaining about grinding, in which I am, but never have I experienced a grind that was as boring as it was in Aion (besides L2).

I'd play a Sorc or SM if I came back. They level 2x faster.

I really dont get where people get the idea its hard to lvl from, I have found it so easy to lvl, but maybe its because i havent burned myself out just thinking of being lvl 50 as fast as i can.

Sm's are a really good class and always have been. I dont play them because i'm not keen on castors :D.

As for the quote 'for thoies that still play' Aion is still a highly played game, hence why there are no trial keys yet, they dont need to. I'm on Castor server, big population, big pvp, lots of rifting, lots of grouping lots of Action.

imo todays prob with people getting bored of a game is because they are just  trying it out to find there new mmo, I play Aion not only beacause i want a mmo to play, but also because I like Aion for everything it is, and followed it for years untill release. Like any game you need to have a certain amount of passion for it to make through the rough times.  NCsoft = Never-ending Challenge, and Aion is a challenge. but when you see a player in full miagrant or anuhart armour, it pushes you on.

If you like the look of Aion, pick a class you! enjoy, not one you think will be the most ubber at lvl 50 ( because they are all good in there own way) find a friendly legion ( not one you think will earn you the most loot or medals) and play for the fun and experience of the whole game. Lvling, crafting, socialising, pvp'ing/rifting and more.

Come join the fight at Castor EU server, hope to see you there :D

I was thinking the same thing, about coming back, but I have to keep pinching myself as a reminder that once you're in your 20's the game is very anti-solo friendly and it starts to become a group grind..  Sorry, my playstyle is too casual to grind in groups during peek hours.. However, I'll be back agian to see if things change.. No Solo = No Sub  :)

Group grind at 20?  What?  I just solo leveled 5 toons to 30 for the daevonian set and blew through 20-30 solo easily.  The only parts of the game you really need groups doesnt start until after level 40 if you want your advanced stigmas and dredgion/fort runs for AP.  Care to explain how the game becomes group based and unsolo friendly after 20?

He's probably referring to the Krall grind at the end of the Verteron campaign.   You cannot grind that solo.
