Because World of warcraft has this stigma attached to it from tv shows,movies,the media,morons off youtube,and so on.
Personally I think WoW is easier to get into.It started out with horrible graphics for a reason.And now that the prices of computers are droping dramaticly (with features enough to play WoW) I would not see why Blizzard would update the graphics.
Heck, I just bought a pretty standard laptop from wallmart for $489.99 to replace my 5 year old desktop and it runs the game like a monster!
