    Note:

I have no faith this game will eve make it to marrket.  This is my own perosnal opinion based not on gameplay but thier development ethos.

    However,

You guys are tryign way to hard to bash the game.  Let it fall on its own.  If people ask, respond factually and let it rest.  Stop the the crusade to bash the game.  First rule of any game is that until it is out, it isn't out.  I can't think of a single title that made thier release dates.  This game is no different.

Once it is reelased you can flame away all you want.

While it is fun to watch this train wreck in progress, it is disturbing to see people piling it on when people get in over thier heads.  All developers make huge mistakes (I certainly have).  However, the good ones learn and do better next time.

Nothing is worse than ignorant Fanboy's OR  rabid haters.

IMO and getting on topic i preffer that the game launches without the sync issues and honestly i am not THAT hurried to play it in its final version, and I am not paying montlhy fees so.... well.... i dont care.

About professionalism, well I knew this was an amateur company ant it was part of the reason I bought the game to support it, i have not seen anything unprofessional about them if they would have announced the delay without telling the investors THAT would have been unprofessional.

If the game fails it will fail and i will go on with my life (with 60 less euros) it is not like the reason I live, at least for me.

in summary, stop feeding the fanatism of the people who "does not like the game" .

I don't think anyone complains about the game being held back as it's obviously not ready for prime-time.  I think most folks think it's a silly game that SV is playing with all the small bumps instead of taking significant steps. Instead of another 4 weeks.. realize the reality of the state of the game and send it back to closed beta to fix it up and make it into a real game.. then come back to us in 6 months and let us see what has been accomplished.

    Edited to add:

This is what I mean.  Here is their delay message from December 16th:

    Release

In order to deliver you the best product we can, we are pushing back the release of Mortal Online for one month. This is not a decision we take lightly but we feel that it is necessary to do so in order to polish all the core features.

All the core features will be implemented and the additional time will also ensure that we can continue in thoroughly testing all the game features and eradicate all those nasty bugs.

Just be honest and push it back a reasonable amount of time to actually "eradicate all those nasty bugs" instead of repeated small delays...

why does this even matter it doesnt to be honest. its kinda like some one QQ that they got 6 dimes instead of 2 quarters and a dime..

    Good move by them.

I've got no horse in this race, as I'm not interested in MO at all...I'm just replying because this thread was on the main page.  Anyway, from what Ive heard about this game, any delay they can afford is a good thing.

of course the dysync is the  main issue i believe. the game is playable even more so after that desync a bit annoying at times tho but i know they. will add more content and stuff after release im pretty sure we arent going to get anymore content before release just polish bug fixes and some needed tweaks

  • SlyLoKSlyLoK Member RarePosts: 2,698

Desync / lag isnt the only problem this game has.

woot! I hope speedtree 5.1 makes release, its so sexy haha. Would love to see it in the game, would give amazing foliage and trees compared to whats in now.

Honestly I think if they dealt with the network issues they could polish the game a lot sooner. I hope the Epic help won't cost them too much... Most of the problems I had with the game were lag spikes and syncronization server<->client and as I seen the massibe bug reports in the forum the major ones were the cause of the sync problem. It was quite unplayable before the patches... now it is a little bit better. If the game gets fluent after the new update, the game can get up on its legs and start getting the gameplay issues fixed. Once done all it needs is content and players!

If the sync issues won't fix... well it will become a lost project.(Lets hope not.... I like sandbox)

True, however it is the biggest issue with the game at present. The rest of the issues are the normal fare most MMO's have during testing. Not to say any that will be fixed when testing is over as I can't predict the future.

@ thread, would you prefer they launched in the state MO is in? Seven delays, ten delays or one hundred delays. It makes no difference, it's what any company should do when a product isn't ready.

    This is hillarious.

If they had released, they would have caught hell for pushing an unfinished project.

By delaying, they caught hell anyway.

I know, I know, they could hold back on the promises a bit until they know what's going on, but at least they're trying to wait 'til it's playable.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

Great decision to delay.  (OFF TOPIC)  Wizardry, i love the GSP info. Dan Hardy looked like an idiot in there. Since gsp got upset by Matt Sera, he has not been the same. He used to be strike first, jujuitsu later. Now he is so wrestling oriented, you wouldn't even know he has a great stand up game, which he does. How the hell didDan  get to a freaking championship match without being able to defend the takedown? Blame the fight promoter. Giving him fights tailored for his fighting style. He was screwed from day one.

No kidding, they identified it needs fixing and trying to do just that as best as possible. Regardless of whether the game is good or not anything that makes it better is welcome.

They made a smart move holding off. It's in worse shape than Vangaurd was at launch and I want them to make it. 6 months or a year is fine just don't shoot yourself in the foot at lauch coming out  with a garbage game.

A little insight and a personal confession 2 Days, 3 Hours ago

With this post I hope to clear the air of the biggest question on this forum "is this a scam?" and I can 100% assure you it is not. Why you ask? Well the answer is simple, I have not revealed much about my connection with Xsyon and how much of a role, while only little compared to the Devs, I have played.

I have seen every animation, seen every weapon/tool/clothing/animal model.

    However...

For the last year I have had an offline mode of the client, which is a fancy way of saying I spent a lot of timing doing nothing but looking at terrain.

This, however, has recently changed. Last Monday I took my first plunge and logged into the real game Jooky (Lead Dev) and I have been sorting out major bugs that we have come across to prepare for the pre-orders.

Since that time I have grown quiet attached to terraforming.

I have not done anything complex yet such as crafting or fighting animals as these are currently turned off so as to test the basic functions of the game.

Personally, I'm glad they have decided to delay it since they have an opportunity to address their biggest problem (the desync issue.  As for the abruptness of the announcement, I expect that was due to the fact that they were actively working on the issue, but didn't realize how close they were to reaching the limits of what they could do without bringing in the specialists (Epic) until they actually reached that limit.  Once they were at that limit, they probably wanted to iron out the details of the hands on with Epic before announcing it.

Also, it brings me no joy to revisit the argument of whether they will delay release if they feel that time can be used to make necessary improvements but.....
