Nude Patch

Allods Online Becomes Another Victim of Nude Patch

The pity is that the nude patch is only available to female characters.

None of the articles about this even say where to get it.

is this for real? didn't it say this was illegal? i seriously don't understand what happened to this game. it was great in CB, but it's like somebody shot it in the head right before OB.

  • SnarlingWolfSnarlingWolf Member Posts: 2,697

All it means is they didn't encrypt their model/texture information very well so someone just made a file to replace it.

It's not different then when this happens to any other game, or when you hear about glow skins in FPS games to give people an advantage over everyone else.

It doesn't mean that anyone who doesn't want to see this has to, because if it's real you'd have to install it on your machine just to see the nudey pixels.

  • TazlorTazlor Member UncommonPosts: 864

so if i play the game will i see all these nude girls running around?

  • Esther-ChanEsther-Chan Member Posts: 288

This makes me want to reinstall the game all over again. Lol

  • MurashuMurashu Member UncommonPosts: 1,386

I believe you would have to apply the patch to your system in order to see these models.

  • alakramalakram Member UncommonPosts: 2,301

No, you only see this if you apply the pacht to your game, in your computer, and none elses sees it.

  • Esther-ChanEsther-Chan Member Posts: 288

Like others have said, this only effects the user. Since all the models are on  your computer, it would be easy to edit them. I'm sure there are lots of things you can do to exploit the game this way, but nude elves is hardly one of them.

WoW actually had model editing too. I've seen many people change their race to another. While it's only client side (I.E; only you can see it), it is illegal none-the-less. I imagine it's the same here.

This is vital information that no competent journalist would ever leave out of their article.

its a pretty decent reskin if you ask me. tho i really never understood the whole point of making the nude patch in wow or even this. or the many other mmos that have had this sort of issue with "patches"

if your that hard up for nudity why not just download one of the many XXX rated games... or play second life and go in to the XXX districts... i mean same thing... O-o and u dont have to worry about trojan condoms or viruses hitting your pc by installing some random nude patch/file..

  • majimaji Member UncommonPosts: 2,091

Sounds more like a puberty patch rather than a nude patch. I personally wouldn't be bothered by it. If other people have that stuff installed or not doesn't have any impact on my game, except that more characters stand sometimes around dancing or are easier to kill in PvP.

I don't quite get the patch anyway. If you play an MMORPG, you have access to the internet, and thus to unlimited amount of porn in all sorts and shapes and qualities. Why would I want to install such a patch, except if I'm still in puberty and giggle at everything that is not of my gender.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

You could always download the AoC unlimited trial. Not only do you get to play to your heart's content, but you can run around naked as either Male or Female, and all the characters are well endowed. It's a pervert's fantasy! Walk softly and carry a big stick, and an even Bigger stick.. if you know what I mean *wink*.

it would be simpler to play Mortal Online.. as they have fully atticulated male/female bodies and as far as i understand it you do not need DX10/11 to unlock that set of skin textures (havent played MO mind you so i dont really know)

either way... it bags the question... why gamers really need to have nudity in their games ... isnt porn... or wife/gf/bedmate... simply easier O_o??

That's like asking why people need to read Hentai when real porn is *real*. The point is, who cares? Everyone has their fetishes. Go to deviantart.com and search for "Night Elf and Draenei" and I promise you that you'll find at least 100 pictures of night elf on Draenei action.

  • IchmenIchmen Member UncommonPosts: 1,228

ya but hentai and porn are in most cases diffrent from video games. hentai.. is for the extream stuff like tentical ect.. porn is well porn O-o both tend to have more action packed reading/viewing options then a video game lol

to each their own i guess, if the game has nudity fine no harm no foul honestly ... if people add nudity... i just shake my head but meh to each there own..

but if a game starts making it that you can get a headshot or decatipitated by a pair of 48DD breasts or male genitals... ill have to draw the line cause thats just.... no...

How exactly is this illegal? You said yourself that it's just altering files on your own computer.

Only because something is on your computer, it doesn't mean that you can violate rights associated to it.

Oh, you won't see anyone else "nude", however, you'll know who's nude because the players that have this patch installed will still be wearing underwear & bras and that's what you'd see.

Collision is handled client side in just about every MMO.  You can use model editting to your advantage (essentially like hacking).  For example model editting was used in WoW to alter the gates in battlegrounds and places like Stratholme in order to bypass content or start capping flags before the timer even begins.  You just alter the gate model into something tiny.

Texturing or skinning is just editting the skin or texture of the model and does not alter the model.  In general even if you were going to profess to a GM you were using a nude patch or alternate skins they probably wouldn't care.  It doesn't interfere with gameplay at all and can't be used to hack.

The physical thing on your personal computer has rights now? Is it wrong to keep MMO slaves? Am I murdering my games when I uninstall them? Am I violating Oblivion in horrible ways when I install mods on it?

Can you point me to the relevant government statutes in any nation that says that modifying a piece of software on my own personal computer for my own private use is illegal?

Did people get fined by the police or go to jail for modifying the battlegrounds in WoW? Just curious.
