This is exactly why I've been waiting to buy it. I'm unimpressed with what I see so far and I refuse to pay for a game to play an alpha version, or even a beta version. Lets hope that when the open beta starts, that the flood gates open with all the content that was previously unpublished.

So did the trolls about darkfall but they was wrong 2 on the game failing and closing down you know. So why dont you stop trolling and say maybe it will maybe it wont 1 week isnt enough for a content patch and bug fix patches .

My, reading this topic is certainly like wallowing through sludge. Reading the posts... I can definitely understand the statement: "Our species eat our wounded ones." Many individuals here latch onto anything they believe is a mistake and seem to thrive on it. -------- Open Beta appears to be starting on February 1st. This is the beginning of the release process. However long Open Beta goes, the release of the game will happen, and that is when the game goes gold. Once Gold, pre-orders/buyers will have their 1 month of game time included with the purchase. The announcement is for stock-holders, and there aims to be another content patch out before Open Beta, or Before Gold status... no clue just yet which. --------- It really isn't that hard to understand... if you want to understand. Give the game a shot and see if you like it. Make an account and log in once you have the newest client. It will be a good opportunity for people to see what it is like.

Doubt it very much, they would not let the public see the bad shape the game is in right now if they could keep it from releasing. It will be a few days to a week at the most.

Yes, its kind of unexpected these days, so many companies seem to expect you to pay for the priviledge of beta testing their games... (or buy a lifetime sub to a completly different one!)

Actually heard there will be a patch that increases the number of wildlife in the game.
This might help the emptyness of the world.
But, atm, there is TONS of people trying to log in so the servers are getting swamped.

if you have to login to get to the patcher you have the wrong client and patcher..
