How would you re-design WAR with 3 (or more) factions?

Most people seem to think that the biggest misstake Mythic did with WAR was to have only 2 factions. As a fan of the IP I would love to see WAR make a comeback but I doubt its possible without major changes.

But how should Mythic set up the 3 or maybe more factions?

There are alot of great factions in the Warhammer universe but most of them dont get along very well. I guess they had to make some big lore breaks (like they already have) to justify the factions.

1. Add a completly new faction.

Keep the order and chaos factions and add a third with 3 differnt races. I think an Undead faction would make the most sense. Then you already have Tomb kings and Vampire counts factions and maybe they could put Skaven in with them somehow.

so add Tomb kings, Vampire counts and skaven faction

2. Brake up chaos

Its pretty easy to break up chaos with Greenskins on one side and Chaos on the other. Dont know which factions Dark elves would want to join of thoose... Chaos could be joined by Beastmen or even Chaos dwarves. Then Greenskins, skaven and Dark evles would be one faction.

3. Brake up order

I found this alot harder. We have Bretonnians, Wood elves and ogre kingdoms who fit with "the good guys". I guess Lizardmen would go here aswell but I find it hard to pair them with the other races. Then there is some other armies like Kislev and Dogs of war but I dont think they are different enough.

Maybe Bretonnians, Wood elves and Ogres would work as a faction. Then all 3 have their own elves, humans and wierdos ;p

4. Make alot of smaller factions. Now its getting really fun! the ultimate soltion would be to have every army as a faction on their own but that would probably be a mess. Myabe its possible with 5 faction with 2 races each?

Empire - Dwarves

High elves - Lizardmen (heard rumors that they are somewhat allied)

Bretonnian - Wood elves

Chaos - Dark elves

Greenskins - Skaven

 

Perhaps? Then we would have 4 new popular races with Bretonnians, Wood elves, Lizardmen and Skaven.
