A follow up at level 20 would be nice.

Like the small number of us who opted to play Alganon from the launch, the author of this topic has probably decided to call it quits. Maybe he or she will return when the game goes free to play very soon and we'll receive an evaluation of a slightly more advanced stage of gameplay. Then again when it goes free to play (an imminent move by the developers, QoL) everyone will be able to judge for themselves without the restrictions of the trial server to impede their perception.

Quick edit to include the link to the info where we found out about the free to play option:

Is this game even worth playing as F2P, let a lone a P2P?

Playing: EvE, Warhammer free unlimited trial, Allods Online
Played: Anarchy Online, WoW, Warhammer, AoC, Ryzom. Aion
Strongly Recommend: Ryzom, EvE, Allods Online

It would be free. Generally anything free is at least worth trying because you have invested nothing but a little time. Sadly though Allods is better so f2p or not it will still fail

Isn't that the ultimate problem with the game, the concept? Essentially going Free to Play means scraping a lot of those "unique ideas" they had. Probably also means that the remaining 3 classes and 6 Races will be Pay to Play in the cash shop. They will trim the World Map in half probably and redistribute the mobs/quests/starting locations and then make you Pay to Play some of the dungeons that will only be available on different maps you have to buy.

Essentially -- they couldn't compete with World of Warcraft of a Pay to Play model for MMOs. Eve, STO, EQI/II, and a few others offer more variety or uniqueness in the Pay to Play area.

Now moving to Free to Play, sure they will attract more people. Yet, you have to wonder -- Allods offers WoW style play in a unique setting with a lot of differences. Runes of Magic offers WoW style play in a fantasy settings with a lot of differences. Dungeons and Dragons Online offers a totally unique style of play in a fantasy setting. Then you have some more F2P games coming out offering some more variety (Aika with a Warhammer approach). So the question remains -- will you play and pay in cash shop a game that is still essentially a poorly done WoW knock off when there are better F2P WoW knock offs already?

The games failure came down to simply a lack of actual unique gameplay. When they failed to deliver anything resembling what they said the game would present in features, they shot themselves in the foot.

Oh well... hopefully this is the last gasp effort of David Allen and we will never have to hear from him again.

Exactly this even as a f2p the game is horrible. It might survive but it will NEVER thrive. Allods Online however is currelty trying to kill itself off by charging things like $20 for 6 bag slots.

    Dem hibbies! Dey be wrong!

Only the American version, and that is going to change soon (hopefully).

In the Russian version, the bags are $2 (right now everyone is saying that someone just put an extra zero there, which I believe is what happened.)

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

Nope. Official word from gPotato is that the prices are not a mistake, but that they will "listen to every piece of feedback from the community" and "continue to evaluate the details of our item shop."
