Seriously though. If your game's that easy for bots to take over and use. I don't want to play. You may see "they've banned 50k bots in under a month" I think its' a month. anyway you see it and say yay. I see it and say, ah glad to see they suck at managing bots for the US version. YES i'm glad they didn't use that horrible shitty gameguard, xtrap and such other compeltely and utterly BS programs that INSTANTLY make me tell everyone about how bad they are. But they could've done a little more server side to try to stop bots. Also this shows how much people playing Aion want to get the money. Sounds like a shitty game to me... 50k bots banned and it just keeps going up with each day. All of them will return with new accounts so right now we're at x number of bots. X which is ever increasing.

You realize of course that it's equally easy to create a bot for any game as it is for Aion? All of the more popular MMOs have some kind of bot and or hacks available for them. The only MMO company who has more or less successfully stopped the bots/hacks is WoW and that's because they filed legal charges against the people distributing them and have effectively scared everyone else into not distributing their bots for WoW.

Another issue to consider is that Aion (and other NCSoft titles) have very large global markets which makes them juicy targets for the people who want to make some cash with bots/hacks.

I will say NCSoft should have known better and should have already had a bot detection unit setup from day 1, however, saying they have poor bot management just because they made a very popular game and are big target is just ignorant.

Lol no the thing is one needs loads of gaynah to even stay halfcompetitive. It's just a bad game design.

Another thing is securing a P2P game with GameGuard and other crap. Serious developers wouldn't even consider such an option...

I remember when I played Lineage 2 beta and release for a month, same thing as you guys are complaining.  Bots everywhere, maybe people need to learn not to trust some companies.   Just my two cents.

You believe that?It has been a huge problem in their games for several years ,so if they were so serious where was that before the game launched?

Do you also believe they have the resources [manpower] set aside to investigate 50k bots?Don't forget they would be investigating a lot more than that.Do you also believe 100+k people sent in bot reports?that is approx how many would have sent in reports to have 50k banned.

I for one do not believe a single thing NCSOFT says they are lying all time as far as i am concerned.I could not support Aion even if it was a decent game ,strictly because i know what NCSOFT is all about.

Someone was wondering how many bots? and how broken the game already is? look no further than GOOGLE for the price of Kinah,it is around 2-3 bucks a MILLION,the RMT sites are not hurting for Kinah at all, there is TONS of botters and tons of Kinah.NCSOFT failed their customers from day 1 on server qu ue,Nguard, they are a second rate developer spending money but offering little effort in return.Actaully Aion was a VERY cheap cost to produce about 1/4 the cost of TR[imagine most of that small cost was for the CRY engine],so expect more of the same, weak effort=weak products.

I reported both of you for both your personal attacks.

Oh and no MMO has prevented botting

The hatred towards Aion is just especially vocal, just like the hatred for Warhammer was vocal, just like the hatred for Vanguard was vocal and just like the hatred for every future release will be vocal, because the people on this site hate everything. Get over it

Aion's bot problem is not that bad, it's actually better then older bots because most are smart enough now to leave me alone. Obviously most of you are new to gaming.

omg the nerdrage in this thread... seriously tho guys, i am glad they are actually doing something about the bots and making it known... a LOT of other games do not try this hard to get rid of them.

The damage is all psychological. The game is still the same game it was at release minus a few bugs and a few extra quests. The only negative impact it ever gave was one spawned from "People", which honestly. Most people folliwing the game knew it was going to happen. It wasn't hard to see it would have a bot/gold farm problem.

No its not.  The economy is completly wrecked because of them.  Try leveling afresh, while not relying on a main's income.

Although it is a good sign, unfortunately this is true for a lot of people.  A lot of games have found that bad first impressions are hard to overcome (just recently this was proven with Champions Online).  I'm still a little confused as to why it took them 2+ months to do something that they should of been doing after the 1st week.  Further, the damage to the economy may have long reaching effects since the problem went on unabated for so long.

Most likely because they were making money off the sale of the game.... Bump their profits up, show the investors 'it was worth it'.    But unfortunately now that they are banning 2+ months into it, the gold farmers have a good base income selling the stuff and can keep on purchasing new copies making money before they get banned.. rinse and repeat... sadly it works out well for both NCsoft, in sales.. and the farmers, making a profit in the long run.

This is why you'll never see aggressive bot banning in the beginings of any MMO..  everything is boiled down to profit. .. Something as gamers I think we are going to have to accept.. or get over... I hate it, but what can ya do other than never buy an mmo again..  but that wont happen.

I loved this one the most:

"NCSoft is super fail........they are banning all their playerbase and there is not gonna be anyone left to subscribe to their game. Only people left are the Kinah sellers sitting in front of the Temple of Gold in Pandaemonium; Soon they will leave too as there is nobody left to sell kinah to.

Pretty horribad business model if you ask me NCSoft.............basically you took everyone's money and ran. Sad, because I liked this game. Could've been a good game. I won't be playing any NCSoft games ever again."

When did banning cheaters and hackers become a bad business model? Unbelieveable arrogance from these people.

Never had that problem personally, but man if I were you that would have made me quit too. Sort of like someone I know who's system for some reason was crashing running WoW. After about 1 month of back and forth with support they find out that they found the problem but have no intention of fixing it because they were in a very small minority. Bye account.

Am doing it. I find I get Just enough mats and cash to keep the toon afloat without having to dip into my main's coffers. Then again I craft and I will never purchase the overpriced crap on the AH unless there is no alternative. You can also find goods that sell cheaper than vendor they are so common.

Other MMO's do the same thing though. When people have 2 level 50's you'll see the price of everything go up and it will be players, not gold sellers, doing the gouging.
