while i support Blizzard donations to the make a wish foundation via the new rmt pet store I also think it is a cynical ploy to get people used to this type of mircopayment model . this is a time honored way of sugar coating something that a lot of people are against .
it would be different if 100 percent of these profits when to charitable causes and i would really be the first in the que in saying how amazing Blizzard was for doing it But they know this is a contentious issue and now at least it gives the fanbois the .... well its good for charity arguement . well it is but its even better for Blizzard but long term its not good for the player base .
Its a very slippery slope they ve chosen to go down and if you think it ll end at just pets now then you really are fooling yourself .

While I do agree that having to BUY vanity pets is pretty shady .. I do agree with the cause. Blizzard hasn't done anything like this before - Faction / Character race changes aside - so it'll be interesting to see if this is just a one time thing.
the charity is just a mask for what they are trying to do, squeezing money out of the player-base.
IF they really wanted to do charity, take 1-10% out of a month subs and give it to the organization, what the fuck do the pets have to do with charity, it's there to pose as a vanity reward for an action so called "donating". And we don't even know how much of our money are going to the people who REALLY need it.
After a while, you'll be donating to their cash shop for vanity shits.

5 bucks out of 10...
When it took them no time at all to program the pet...
They're even giving it to a charity that isn't that helpful to mankind, if you really want to help people with cancer, look for a cure or help pay medical bills, don't send them to Disney world.
If Blizzard wants to donate money to charity then they should use their own money and not sucker people into buying pets then take half of the profits for themselves. It's a sneaky and devious way to get people to use RMT and to pry more money out of their player base. If you want to send a message to Blizzard that we will not tolerate this sort behavior simply unsubscribe to the game and not buy their products because if you do not send a message then they will keep walking all over you like they have been.
cool story bro, simple minded dumbass.
no such thing as medical bills where i live there has nt been in nearly 70 years . i doubt it is just a one time thing as i read it the donation only applys to one of the pets . i cant see how any one can be against a charity thats for terimally ill children but thats exactly why Blizzard chose them . also they realised that such things as faction server and race changes were not as unpopular as item shops so they looked for a way to justify them .
cool story bro, simple minded dumbass.
Thats funny, cuse it summed up the OP well.

My bad, should have said it clearer as it's an obvious fact that your brain is undersized.

I agree shame he has to resort to such stupidity and not actually make even leave a comment . The image really shows more about his mentality than anything else . Very childish .

I'm Afraid I agree with Bloodworth...
You should stop with your conspiracy theories...
They aren't "Tricking" people into buying this, there is no bait and switch.
I'm just glad they are making an attempt to do SOMETHING positive by donating to Make a Wish.
Though there are a lot of other charities that I think are far more deserving, as I said earlier, if they want to help people they should do something that will benefit them... not just give them some fun.
Pay for medical bills, help finance the development of new housing for those in need, fund research grants for diseases.
THESE effect real change.
What I do find ironic about this is that they announce this vanity pet thing a couple days after China shut down there servers once again to thier playerbase. I just feel that it is a ploy to gain some money back to show their 4th Quarter numbers to show they are staying steady.
Thats just my thought on it.
I never really understand these theads as Blizzard isn't exactly holding a gun to your head to buy a pet and for those that would have bought them anyway it is a nice bonus to know that some money is going to a charity too. If you feel so strongly about the whole thing, but still want to support the charity, then don't buy the pet and donate the whole sum yourself directly?
Blizzard would have been damned if they did, damned if they didn't. If they hadn't donated to a charity then there would have been another 'Blizzard rip-off' thread, but they went a different way and they get this instead.
Is it really worth stating the obvious again that they are a business and as such will do anything within their power to milk the market they have created and what business wouldn't? As a consumer, you can choose to buy what they are selling or not, pretty straight forward.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.
interesting development blizz going rmt. if ya cant beat the goldsellers become rmt and take the rl money given to goldsellers to there own pocket. This is just the tip of the iceberg wait and see..
