Ugh this game.....

Is so Lame!

Anybody else disappointed and have the feeling of being really Let Down by Gravity?  Before s2, the game was mediocre, not super fun, but could keep your interest for a little bit.  Combat was kinda kool to watch, and some of the dungeons were ok.

And so it looked like this game had promise.  That this new patch/expansion er whatever it was, could bring some new life, as well as maybe some new players. I noticed a lot of the higher level players were really excited, and when new players were feeling kinda down on the game, those experienced would say, just wait, its gonna get better.  Now those who waited so long and patiently are gone.

The new "season" is lame.  The grind is even more lame now.  The Halloween event (this is a horror MMO right?) was super lame.  Course this is all my opinion.

So anyways my QQ is over.  I wanted to know though, and the reason for this post, What do you higher level players think?  You guys have stuck it through for awhile now, what is on your mind?  Do you like the direction the game is going?

The advantage of a free2play game is you can just leave it and pick it up again at a different time.  Most high levels in the game like myself usually just wait it out for next content patch or make an alt.

I think Season 2 corrected many underlying design issues, and still needs to address some.  Overall, I think if you look at how it was in Season 1, then compare it to how it is in Season 2.  Its not as bad as it was in practically anything except raids.  Balance is better, leveling is slightly easier, equipment is cheaper, the economy is stable for an MMO, proper mob difficulty is there, the better dungeons are in the right spots, and the many other changes made but too much to list.  Whenever you do such a huge change to a game, there are always going to be problems that need to be addressed later.  Also with your entire development staff wrapped around making the changes, you no longer have the staff to advance content.  Its one of those things that is going to take some time to fully pan out, its only been a month and a half.

The development staff is also getting a little better at releasing new content.  They released Path to Norns and some skill rebalances a month after Season 2.  If they did it with Season 2, you would be looking at 5 dead months for updates, which would make you lose even more community.  If they can do small monthly updates, it would be a path in the right direction.  I think the next big patch is going to be a content update.  Considering the last 2 were large game play changes, you can't really go a year without updating content.  It should be in Korea in December, and the US 2~3 months later.

True, I am a free player, and i've done exactly that, just put the game aside, and wait.  But I also did this before s2.  And waited not only for s2 to come out, but gave it a month to work out the kinks.  So when the new s2 patch came out, I reloaded the game like a week after.  And here I am again, putting it aside. Its only been like 2 weeks since the patch.

They Definitely did a better job with the Reinforcement system, er well at least I like it a lot better.  But I have to disagree on the grind being a little easier.  At least for me and my 3 level 40's.  I've noticed that there are no more parties for WS, as well as AT.  I go out and solo grind, but it gets kinda boring, im sure joining a guild and such would help but the ones that are left are kinda lame.  Ive found that elites in the world dont give much anymore, and that the best place is Ancient Temple, however like i said, no one wants to group up.  More of a personal/server problem i guess. Anyways, I wasn't super huge into the game and so some of the things you have seen and listed are probably noticeable at higher levels, which is just what i was wondering.

Right, I understand how game companies work.  What I don't understand is that they've had longer than a month and a half to "pan" out things.  I wasn't in this game since its conception, but was there any really big changes to it before s2 besides the Xenoa race?

Some things are different in regards to EXP then before.  Several mobs have had their exp doubled or more depending on their difficulty.  I don't remember which ones.  Also all normal mobs are now half the exp as an elite mob.  You should also be able to kill 3 elite mobs at a time instead of 1.  So for me its better in that sense.

SvS was added in February which when you think about the coding involved is a pretty serious update.  Before that was the addition of South Hammerine Woods, then North Hammerine Woods, and ofcourse quite a bit more content.

What class would you suggest is good for this?  I play a rogue atm, and I cant take more than 1 without using health pot/food.  And even then, when it is 2 elites, i pray my Homethrust doesnt miss or its game over.

Its all in the build and how you use it.  Look at the Requiem forums for a good rogue build.
