Everything about DDO sounds great, and looks great in the videos i've watched. I'm tempted to give it a shot, and though I'm not a big fan of the F2P model, I'm interested as I have heard many positive things about the game.
One thing I'm concerned about.... I enjoy PvE at times, but I tend to really enjoy working through all that PvE with my goal in-mind bieng a very capable dueler/PvPer. Please convince me whether or not this game has anything going for it in the PvP department...
Thanks in advance. I'm very interested in DDO, but am not satisfied with PvE only, and need the thrill of some kind of PvP/perma death to keep me interested.
Thanks in advance!

REALITY CHECK
I'm enjoying DDO right now the the short response to your post is NO x5.
There are guilds which enforce permadeath play, but it's really not a PVP game.
I've heard, and I'm not sure if they are still there, that there are permadeath guilds.
Other than that, as others have indicated, DDO is solely pve except for the small arena areas in taverns.

im a big pvp fan and when i first started out i sure were hoping for some good pvp ingame but there aren't really any, but to be honest i haven't thought about pvp since i started playing, the pve is enough to satisfy me. I highly recomend DDO even to a pvp fan, it's something else.
(sorry for any bad spelling / gramar, english is my secound language)
Actually there are "mini-games" or whatever you call them. You can challenge other players/groups to instanced deat match or capture the flag matches simillar to FPS games.
But on the other hand... DDO is not balanced at all for PvP so people dont use it much.
