Players Forced Out After Patch

BonemaneBonemane Member UncommonPosts: 353

So are there any other casualties other than me who were forced out because of the latest patch? I'm talking about increased lag, Blue Screens of Death, and of course the random colored squares when loading the game up (which is what I have). Seems the devs really messed up. I read the patch release and it said nothing about updating the engine nor had they made any attempt to warn players within the last couple months from what I seen, that's just wrong. From I seen on their forums they're not even responding to posts about it, leaving the players to figure out what happened themselves.

Finally got the hang of the market and was preparing to make 20+ million a day then the game stops working. Not to mention I still had licenses and those are going to expire as well. I ran this game on a Radeon 9250 and it ran smoothly with 30-40 fps on max graphic settings. Game looked great as well. I just don't see the reason behind this update because they're losing alot of players.

I can still play it, but boy, lag sure has increased in combat. I guess thanks to all the new special effects, I seem to be getting 15 fps or less.

I have to agree with you, it doesn't seem to make much sense. The graphics don't appear to have improved any by the new engine. So I'm not sure what they are gaining,  other than the aforementioned special effects.

That said, a 9250 is a pretty old card, 7-8 years old. Ebay should get you a better card for a reasonable amount. (Me, I'm on a laptop and have a decent laptop card, a 8600M GT, which isn't great by any means, but is solid)

Hmmmm, while the patch made it almost unplayable on my year old laptop, it did improve things on my 7 year old desktop (with a 7600 GT). Go figure.

On my laptop, pre patch, I played it with settings on 3 or 4 and it was okay (except in Rome).

On  my desktop, had to play with the settings on 2. (Missed the glowing weapons)

After the patch, have to put the settings on 1 on the laptop, and can crank them up to 4 on my desktop.

well it's pretty common to have major bugs especially when putting up a large patch update...

sometimes the bug doesn't show up on test servers and only appears when they added minor changes

I used to play it on 5 with 1280x1024. Everything ran smooth except for Rome as well. Shame they put out players for a few spell effects because I've heard a few people say there's no change in overall graphics. I feel sorry for those who spent money on the cash shop right before this patch.

After this patch I really didn't notice much of a engine change. I stopped lagging as much in the underwater area, and I have a constant 60 fps with an 8800. But a couple of my friends have been complaining about random crashing since the patch, so maybe they just need to release a quickfix on it.

I'm just experiencing some lags and disconnect but its just random then after that everything is alright now O_o

The latest patch seems to have a memory leak. When I quit last night, it was using 2.5 gigs of memory (which is crazy).

I'm not the techi type so I kinda dont understand the graphics cards and the memory leaks. but I know 1 thing. I have several crashes too after the patch. but it seems it's kinda ok now. hope it is fixed for good.

Wow 2.5 gigs??? That would destroy my computer.

i also noticed it, like whenever you do something in-game (fighting, warping) the memory that the game is consuming is getting bigger, until it reaches it's limits to make it crash...

but good thing the problem is fixed

Yeah... but i still think it would be better if we the devs can fix the bugs first rather than issuing new items.

Yeah, but fixing bugs and solving lag issues, does take them away from adding more items for players that like to buy Pixels with real $$. A good announcement of some new content will draw in new players and maybe some returning old ones . .

But, yup . Sure would be nice to fix the existing problems be fore adding new ones

I understand ndoors is doing everything and specially catching up with KAO content. but sometimes the bugs. or at least the crashes should be more of a priority imo.
