Okay my MMO experience starts when I was about 8 playing EQ1. Yes I didn't know what I was doing but by the time I quit I was about level 30. Then I moved to DAoC when I was 12ish and knew exactly what I was doing by then. DAoC made me want PvP in every single game I touch. When WoW came out I was 150% agaisnt it and it killed my favorite game. So after I got tired of all my friends quitting to move to WoW I also went to WoW just to come back to DAoC a few months later. Then went BACK to WoW. Ever since then I have been playing WoW. About 4 years. I have gone through almost all content to date minus pre-BC raiding and I have not downed the last 2 bosses in Ulduar.
I just got hacked two weeks ago and decided it is my time to quit. That is when I discovered this website. I heard about Aion for a long time and never checked it out until I was here and I fell in love with what I saw of it but now that I hear a lot of people complaining I am afraid it will bomb just like AoC and Warhammer. I highly doubt it wont but my suspisions are still there. I don't know what to do. I want to find a MMO that actually grabs my attention and it HAS to have balance PvP. Now I am stuck with looking at Aion and PRAYING it doesn't bomb. Then I look at Champions and Starwars. I have always been a weird kid I never really enjoyed super hero comics or anything primarily because I was never supplied with them. I am not really interested in anything to do with starwars just because I really don't like the fan base behind it.
To make this wall of text a lot shorter. I don't know what to do... I mean should I just give up trying to find an MMO? Go back to WoW(HAHA)? , Or keep hoping for Aion?

I could help you, but I need to figure out what kind of gamer you are.
Answer the following questions.
1. Do you like instancing games, and hate games that do not have instance in them?
If you answered yes to question one, then disregard the following questions below.
2. What kind of gamer are you?
a: Soloist
b: Zealot Soloist (refuses to play with others)
c: Casual group (low commitment to group or guild)
d: Hardcore group (huge commitment to excellence with group or guild)
Frankly, unless it's something like a MMOFPS, no skillspamming/autoattack MMO will be close to WoW's balance in the near future.
1.) I Do not mind instance gaming but I do not prefer it.
2.) Depending on what I am doing I range from Zealot SOloist to Hardcore group. If it is a PvP game I LOVE group orientated PvP but I still want to be able to go out on my own if I don't feel like interacting.
You have a unique chance of dropping online gaming altogether and get A+ grades in College.
My addiction History:
>> EQ1 2000-2004 - Shaman/Bard/Wizard/Monk - nolife raid-whore
>> WoW 2004-2009 + Cataclysm for 2 months - hardcore casual
>> Current status : done with MMO, too old for that crap.
Personally am I not so impressed by Aion but others like it.
My advice to you is to run a free trial of every possible game until you find one that really fits you.
I personally reccomend EQ2 (Now, it was a totally different game at launch), but Vanguard, AoC, Aion Guildwars, LOTRO and DDO are all worth a try. When you played a few hours you should know if you want to finnish the whole trial and when you are done with it you know if it is a game that is for you.
I am not sure when Aions trial will come so try it last but there are many other fun MMOs beside Wow. Most of them are slightly harder however.
I did not mention WAR because it is not that group based.
If you're not that much against JRPG, Square-Enix, Final Fantasies or a different style of MMO's in general, do keep an eye out for Final Fantasy XIV. It'll be quality product for sure, but if PvP is what you're looking for I wouldn't bother- the game will be almost exclusively PvE based, although there will of course be some small PvP content in the future.
