Create your own game's Back of the Box Synopsis!

Ok I was bored tonight. Really bored. I decided that I would think of an idea for my own game, and then, instead of drastically analyze my content to see if it would work, or how it would work, I decided to skip the process of making the game, and designed the back of the retail box for it instead (its much easier this way!). I am curious to see what other people could come up with for "their" games? Heres one I made up called GODSLAYERS Online. I didnt copyright it or anything but if I ever see this game (not the title, I'm sure its probly even been used already, but GAME) out there, I will sue your ass. Lets see your ideas!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GODSLAYERS Online

The Nine Gods of Generia had no choice but to follow the orders of the one true God, and began to reak havoc on all of the world. Who was this mysterious man? Will you come forth and bring peace to mankind by becoming a Godslayer?

All ideas start small and simple. Harry Potter began on a napkin and not everyone is versed in preparing a game proposal or business pitch.

OP- It looks like you were just trying to spawn dialogue around this and decided to share but if you were to try to take your ideas further here is some help:

    Sounds totally craptastic to me

    )|)-\ Gokenin  //-(|(

    Online

Can you not here the horns blowing in the hills, the drums pounding on the roads, the bells ringing in our temples? War has come to Nihon. From across the seas, they come to destroy our way of life. They come to take the land of our ancestors. They come to kill us all. Will you die a coward or will you fight? The God-Emperor demands it.

    Gokenin Online

Set in an ancient time of war, Gokenin Online is a new kind of MMO experience. Using a fusion of role playing games and real time strategy Gokenin Online puts you in control of a Gokenin. A plain and true warrior, you will lead your saburai warriors into battle against other players and a whole world fraught with danger and glory. Establish a fiefdom, train an army, win glory on the battlefield, and establish a bloodline that will become feared across the game world. Build alliances, form trade routes, command your men and conquer the known world. But be careful warrior, the vast Armies of the Khaganate build in the west.

    Combat:

Master your skills as a soldier and commander with dozens of varied martial arts to perform and countless retainers to take to the field beside you. Unleash lethal attacks and lead your rugged warrior band or elite soldiers into war with an emersive interface and beautifully stylised graphics that won't kill your computer but will kill your enemies.

    Classes:

Taking a step back from the restrictive class system of tank, dps, and healer, Gokenin Online focuses on developing your in game avatar physically, socially, and mentally. However rather than a tragic level based system where you rush to end game at the risk of missing out on the fun that could be there Gokenin Online doesn't revolve around turning your character into a demi god so he can fight other demi gods. Gokenin Online focuses on building a kingdom from the ground up that will be respected by other players, feared even.

    PVE Gameplay:

Fear not explorer, Nihon is a massive gameworld made up of four huge islands and dozens of enormous zones to explore. What will you find? Human settlements, conflicts, quests, and honor to be earned. Wait, no monsters and mythical creatures? Nihon is a hard fantasy setting for the most part, but you may find some things that suprise you if you look far and wide long enough. Don't expect dozens of Tengu or Kappa to wait about for farming. However when you encounter the lesser seen fauna of Nihon you will be pleasantly suprised.

    PVP Gameplay:

The real point of any good MMO is competition. Gokenin Online is a PVP based game. You compete with other players over tracts of land, money, natural resources, NPC population, buildings and honor. Duels can be waged and even betted on. A bold player can bet enormous amounts on a gentleman's duel and kingdoms can rise and fall with the stroke of a single sword. On the other hand, you can invest your resources into an army and lead your forces to battle for glory and the death of other players. If they lose their lands they basically return to the beginning of the game with nothing to show for it but wisdom. Players can band together as equals and form alliances or a powerful player can become a lord of sorts and buy the service of other players in return for obedience.

    Crafting:

Gokenin Online brings a whole new crafting system based on the RTS games that it has evolved from. Rather than simple gathering and the manufacture of items, Gokenin Online turns crafting into the management of your peasents in order to extract the resources you need and refine them into the goods you want. Housing is a more than a fun feature, in Gokenin Online player built structures are vital to the in world economy and the control of your lands. Build fortifications, watchtowers, mills, farms, and houses, that don't just poof into existance but need to be built by your citizens or soldiers. New buildings allow new options and create new gameplay.

    World Empire Online

WEO is a complex, historical MMORPG that attempts to replicate crucial eras of history via an interactive world that allows you to be in control. Based on true historical civilizations, WEO originally places you into the world of Ancient Antiquity, beginning with the reign of the Greeks.

FIGHT FOR SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE IN!

This isn't your older brother's MMORPG. Featuring a "next-gen" Civilization System, you will feel like your cities will come to life with vibrant dynamics and immersion you cannot even conceive. No longer Ghost-towns with city residents standing in one place all day or mindlessly moving back and forth, these cities are truly run by the player base. There are no NPC merchants, there are no NPC quest givers standing around with exclamation points over their heads, none of that. You make the shops! Want to build your own store in one of the cities? Go out into a forest and chop down some trees... practice building some primal campfires or houses for your Jackal first before fully committing to building a store, however, it can be tricky work to really tackle that industrial design quickly... not because there is a skill that magically hinders your ability to create things, but because you as the player might need the practice!

All of the select pre-constructed cities are of equal value, and there are many of them. Players will be given a long amount of time to construct shops and houses in any of them, or even in the wilderness if they wish! However, at a certain point, if you fail to manage the upkeep of your home or shop (you are charged a fixed tax once a month, paid as you log into the game) , your house or shop could be repossessed! Destroyed! Pillaged! Left to other players to construct whatever they want there!

A new player joining the game after a short period of time into it's existence will be dazzled at how real and wonderful the world looks as veterans of the game have been busy at work creating a life for themselves in one of the various city expanses.

But how do you get the funds to pay for all of this? Simple: The Government. Introducing a new "City Quest" system, each city will be run by it's own set of rulers (the developers of the game who will weekly devise new things for the city's occupants to do). Week One, for example, could consist of defending any various expanses of Greek territory against raiders from Persia, the prime enemy of the Greeks in this period of time. However these are not just "mobs" standing around waiting to be "aggroed". These are other players, who likely have a Government issued job to kill the Greeks!

Players swear loyalty to a single city in WOE, not a faction. They will slowly gain recognition for their contributions to their City State and The Government will give them special tasks. Perhaps you will be given a mission to sneak into a Persian settlement and steal a Persian Rug to help decorate the palace of your city! The only people who know are the developers, who are actively participating in the world and managing these City States.

    MAKE YOUR OWN STORY

You aren't a hero, you aren't Chosen, you are just a normal citizen of your country and it's your duty to make a name for yourself by doing things that make you standout. You build a Sphinx. In Greece! For the past four months you have been raiding Persian sands to gather enough stone to construct this magnificant wonder and make your City State shine above all of the others. The Government would be most happy with what you have done and you would surely gain recognition!  Or perhaps as a Persian you wish to steal some fine Greek busts to decorate your palaces and strike a blow at your enemy's morale! You would surely be appreciated for what you have done.

Overall, WOE offers you a chance to

    • Make a name for yourself by doing what you want and being creative
    • Go to war with the enemies of your City State to gain great reknown amongst your fellow community and be seen as an individual worthy of customized missions from the Governance
    • Constructing shops, houses, and a true virtual life for yourself
    • Witness a dynamic world that changes with the times. Is your City State overpopulated? Perhaps you will take some of your friends and advance outside of the confines of charted land and discover there are barbarian settlements to be taken and settled. The Governance will declare war on those barbarians and eager players will be given wealth, rank, and recognition for taking land for their City!
    • Interact with a large community of people who are trying to make their lives just like you. Become friends with your neighbor and exchange words as you work on your shop or home.
    • You will be forced to craft your own weapons, armour, and other fixings. There is no one man who will vendor out 1000 of the exact same sword to people. Death is very hazardous! All of those items you crafted will be able to be taken by your enemy, or even your comrades in arms. Not that they will need to take your items, as their items will likely be equally precious to them and they would wan't your foul items when they could have ones that they made themselves. After the battle, the Gods will grant you life again, if you managed to die, and allow you to roam the battlefield to find your corpse, your crafted items, and return to life.
    • Graphics that can run on absolutely beautifully on a generous machine, yet somehow still able to look good on the average computer!
    • Set up alliances with fellow businesses. If you are a business that sells food to the people, how will you get that food? Hire somebody from the hunting business to kill animals for you to cook... allow him to have food for free while selling what is left to the people. Perhaps you will be able to sell out a like business?
    • Watch your city state flourish! A well run City State with a populace that does what it's Government ask will find their city to be working and lovely.
    • The "end game" is world conquest. Perhaps you will have one character who dedicates his life to being a merchant and another who is a soldier. The soldier fights wars for his city while the merchant supplies him with food and vital essentials, allowing you to get the best of both worlds.

Available factions: these will be decided by our hired historians. The Free People, The Greeks, and The Persians are definite factions however.

CRAFTING: Everything from food, building, armour, weapons, normal clothes, anything a typical society needs

Perhaps you will gain enough recognition that you will be given a government job! The Government needs food too. For example: The Government needs 50 turkeys, however one of the village cooks is being greedy. Maybe a lesson needs to be dealt here, sir government agent?

PVP: If you randomly kill your own City State citizens, you will be seen as a criminal and be exiled (note, public feuds do not fall under this. Such as if you are resisting to supply the village police with food, they might be prompted to attack you in some sort of way. I would.) However, PVP is open. Anybody can kill anybody. There are penalties.

Instancing: The world is instanced only to the extent that when you change a City State or country, the game will load. You will rarely change zones so this shouldn't be noticeable.

    TRY WOE TODAY!

"Listen, you fuckers, you screwheads. Here is a man who would not take it anymore. A man who stood up against the scum, the cunts, the dogs, the filth, the shit. Here is a man who stood up." - Robert DeNiro
