Training other races ships question

I believe that Caldari are predominately shield tanking missile using ship users. If i train to use a Amarr frigate will my skills drop because of being Caldari in a Amarr ship?

no. race affects NOTHING except for what skills you start with and what corp/system you start in.

 

Im caldari and fly mostly minmatar and galente ships.

Your skills don't drop, its just that if you've spent the last three months training sheilds up to a decent level you might be terribad at armor tanking if you jump into a ship for that because you haven't invested much time in armor tanking.

The armor/shield/weapon/etc bonuses come from the ship themselves and your skills. The race of your character has nothing to do with it
