Are the Next Gen MMO's restricted to mouse and keyboard? Everyone knows what they want or wish for for their next MMO they want to play but what about the control of the game? Or is it the UI (User Interface) that is restricting us from controlling our characters the way they should be controlled? There are movies and shows that kick the mouse and keyboard aside because they have "Head Gear" type peripherals that just use your thoughts to control their characters to a whole other level. Immersion is definately hightened in this way.
Are we around that time where we could invent something other then the keyboard and mouse that can be used not just through gaming but regular means aswell? The Project Natal is a good step in that direction. (Even though it's Xbox only so far). Or maybe use the Nintendo Wii's controllers.
Project Natal.

The problem is that no console controller can possibly give you all the various controls you'd need to run an MMO, it's just not possible. You'd really need... a keyboard and a mouse to do it.
When you come up with a controller that can handle 50 different button combinations and be used as easily as a keyboard, you let us know.

Please no lol, I hate that thing with a passion.
Would be nice to have a rig like in otherland(book series).
A rig that the user are strapped into, suspended in the air. With VR goggles and headset. Controlled with hand movements / normal movements and voice commands.
Last time i discussed this with a m8, we decided it were kinda good we dont have rigs like that. Its prolly highly addictive.
Maybe the only real alternative to mouse and keyboard at them moment, might be touch screens. Something like a sheet of glass with sensors on it. IF the left hand movements controls "W, S, A, D" and each digit controls a key. With 2 screens like that there would be near infinite number of possible buttons, lets say the thumb and pinky of the right hand toggled different keysets. With "teamspeak" and a setup like that, there would rarely be any need for typing on the keyboard.
Maybe theres better ways, iam just writing down some thoughts as they come to mind.

"I'd just like to see more games that focus on the world, and giving the people in it more of a role, im tired of these constant single player games that you can walk around with millions of people."
