Hey all, Zukan here. I've been in the Alpha for about 9 months now.
Lay down your questions here, and I'll answer to the best of my ability without breaking the NDA. Bare in mind anything I'm allowed to say can be found out there by yourself, but I know some people are lazy or sometimes there is hear say about something a dev said etc.

My clan just got our keys for closed beta and my question is do you guys in alpha have a eta on when cb will start? I'm really looking forward to getting a taste of what I hope is our clans new home once we are done in exteel, EXILE IN THE HOUSE LOL.
THX

I'm afraid I have no date. The devs are working hard on some major changes as well as getting ready for E3, so you can imagine they've got their hands full. I'll update this if I do get one though.
bump
I have just one question which I think won't harm the nda.
Now I know your mostly finding bugs with the system etc. But are you having fun?
Do you think the game will be more mainsteam, or more for a niche crowd?
Ok two questions. lol.
I hope you can answer these.
The game is very enjoyable, even though it's Alpha, it's actually very polished with few bugs. I would hope GA becomes popular, it certainly has the potential to be main stream.
Thank you for your reply.
It is nice to hear that in Alpha the game is doing well. I'll be keeping a closer eye on this game, than what I have.
just giving a shout out to Da zukan just because I can and cause he deserves it
Thanks Sallas =]
Hey Zukan, got a few questions that you may be able to answer...
My first questions will be the one's you probably won't be able to answer, but I gotta ask! hah
First off, Jetpacks... Does everybody have access to them, do the different classes get different versions and/or skills governing their use?
Whats the most innovative weapon/item that you've come across that performs a specific function that you have not seen in a game before... e.g. the shield grenade I've seen in halo 3, or the gravity gun in HL2.
Here are the more general questions
What sort of player organization is possible, are there advanced systems for the management of agencies/alliances? For example, EVE online has extremely sophisticated corporation management tools, limiting access, assigning roles that determine what can and cannot be done with corporate assets/management...
What is a rough maximum number for linked instances that an agency could be fielding teams to? I've heard that you could have multiple teams in different objective maps where the actions of one can have an effect on the conditions faced by other teams.
Finally... Could you PM me a referral code?
Thanks for taking the time, and I'll understand if you can't answer all of these questions...

Everyone has a jetpack, the only difference between them is how they look.

I can't answer that.

6 Teams of 10, so 60V60. You can move yourself around between teams so there is room for strategy in both makeup, size, and how you play the map. So there is many ways to go about it. You could shuffle people around and get all your robo's on one team for a last stand or something, for example.
Finally... Could you PM me a referral code?
I don't have any.
Nice, thanks for the info!
Does everyone get referals? I just logged in to add one to mine and found I have 5??
Yeah I guess. I don't really understand how the referal codes work, it's confusing because there are so many being tossed around. They are suppose to improve your chances of getting into BETA.
bump! Anyone else have any questions?
The game looks amazing & I'm about due for a new video card. What are your system specs & how does it run? (I know it's likely not optimized yet.)
Are you happy with the level of detail the developers have added? Are there any forests? I know it's not Sci-Fi / fantasy but in all the screenshots I've seen there are a very low number of trees.
I'm already happy with the how it looks, and the art team isn't even done yet. The game is on the Unreal Engine so if you can play Unreal Tournement 3 you can play GA fine.
Here are my specs, I run the game perfectly fine:
ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series
Vista 32
4gig ram
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Zukan can u compare the shooting style to anything?
From the videos ive seen looks as if its only third person and that units can take MANY MANY hits and guns dont have recoil.
Its cool if u cant answer, its just something that would bug me.
Uhh... what?
I haven't played many FPS games, I came from the MMO side. The two games I've played recantly are TF2 and L4D, and Global Agenda is faster than them both. I'm not sure what I could really compare it to.
Weapons do not have recoil, that's correct. They took it easy in the videos to make it look nicer, the matches I've played in you'd never be able to hit anyone with recoil because of the way we use the jetpacks as a tool for evasion.
Players can take a lot of hits, yes.. but it depends on your build and your class. Medics and Assaults are the heardiest, recon and robo being less so. When you kill a player they drop a little health nugget as well, which can also help players stay alive. Don't it the wrong way though, people still die real fast if focused upon or when you catch them off guard and get some good melee hits in before they can react.
I bet if you got your hands on it, you'd enjoy it still. :]
I was re-reading the answers centre on the GA site, and I noticed them mention grappling.
Are there grappling hooks in addition to jetpacks?
(if there are...) What kind of grapple is it? does it swing or does it just pull you in a straight line on contact?
Can you use your weapon while grappling?
They are reffering to being able to grab onto ledges and hang there and such. Boxes, Crates, ledges on buildings and stuff. You can get your character to jump off the ledge and give yourself a bit of a launch to get up to high places real fast with the jetpack. it's pretty handy.
You can't fire weapons ot devices while holding onto a ledge though, so don't accidentally get stuck on one in a fire fight! X_X
hah for sure.
Well, thats a little disappointing, I'd gotten my hopes up for a grappling hook. Ah well...
I'm still here. Does anyone else have any questions about Global Agenda? :]
Not so much a question, but more your opinion since you've been playin. I played SWG during the early years (ie. before SOE ruined it with changes).
What I noticed as a trend is the bigger guilds roaming planets wiping out smaller cities/bases etc... like an angry bully.
Since this game will be mostly guild (or whatever name it uses) pvp based, I worry that it may trend the same way. Where one or two powerful guilds with many people will make it too difficult for any smaller ones to compete, have fun, or even get up and running.
Your thoughts.
I'm not certian on how it will pan out, but if they do it the way I'm thinking, I can imagine smaller agencies being able to hold their ground, but pushing out too far and expanding on their own might make it hard to hang on to land.
There are Alliances as well though, you can have your small group of people and work together with other small groups and cordinate together to grab large masses of land.
Alpha testers have done some base raids already. Beta will most likely have more in store. They are really awesome. :]
Questions!
I see alot of pvp talk, and maps, and so on.
And from E3 all i saw were a mention about one "instance" for 4ppl PVE with a boss in the end... is there even PvE in the game?
Im afraid of this, everybody sitting in a city, w8ing for stuff, then you get a group and go into a instance. no world...
Anything you can talk/spill about the world or how it works?
