If the American people want a European-style social democracy, the Democratic Party will give it to them. We as "Conservative Republicans" can’t win a bidding war with Democrats. We have been trying to win that bidding war on the cheap. Unsuccessfully. And wrongly. In the process the only thing we’ve managed to do has been to drive up the price. We can’t continue to do this and hope to be successful as a party and,and I would argue, as a nation.
One key problem plaguing us Conservative Republicans has been trying to be all things to all people. This leads to attempts to provide government solutions, federal solutions, on what should be state, local, and individual issues.

After eight years of Bush, America finally stood up and said, "What the HELL were we doing with this clown, and people like him?" America wanted a complete and total change, and Obama was that change. Hell, only 21% of people today even claim they are Republicans anymore, because of Bush and the right wing crowd. Either they all defected, or they are hiding among the "Independants" now, lol. All of a sudden, there's been this HUGE swing of "Independants, Constitutionalists, Patriots, and Libertarians."
I put it in quotations, because you know that if the Republicans were somehow able to pull themselves off the floor (which they won't), those people will come running back. Check their affiliations and you'll find probably most were Republicans under two years ago. But now that's no longer "cool". Now it's cool to be a teabagger, talk about revolutions and recite John Henry or Ethan Allen on streetcorners and the interwebz. "Don't tread on me" flags... lmao! Those are as silly as the Che Guevara tees the leftists wear. They really have no idea how stupid those flags are on their bumper sticker.
Bush and friends screwed that up so bad, it was going to be either a woman (Hillary Clinton) or an African American (Barack Obama). It helped that Barack Obama was fully qualified, highly intelligent and a charasmatic leader, but Bush made the ticket possible to a wide variety of Americans. Even though 20% claimed they would never vote for him because he was Black, plenty of people realized that whoever got picked was going to be a superior upgrade. Now the right wing has Rush for a leader, Sarah riding shotgun, and only know how to make things worse for themselves daily; all because they let Bush and friends drive drunk.
Bush my friend, was a once in a lifetime gift that just keeps on giving.
Pres. Obama is a ray of sunshine and a gust of fresh air. Bush demanded a loyalty that was perhaps uncharacteristic of the office of the Presidency ("you are either with us, or you are with the terrorist"). From Washington to Obama (keeping Gates as Defense Sec.), great Presidents have appointed their ideological rivals to positions of responsibility because they merited the appointment. Pres. Obama has reached-out and been rebuffed by Republicans.
Pres. Obama will not only be a great Pres., he will, I trust, by God's grace, remain a great man.

If you mean spending, every economist worth his salt claims Obama HAD to spend what he did. Some of the better economists claim he didn't spend nearly enough, but so far, their are indications things are turning around. I think you said you don't pay attention to the mainstream news before Brian, but the signs have been very good that the Bush Ship of Financial Disaster is slowly turning. The Republicans are trying to keep people from seeing that with the character issues (Obama's thuggery) and other personal attacks. Our international standing already went up tenfold since W left.
It's patently unfair to say he's carrying on where Bush left off when first, its only been 100 days. Obama has a total of 1,460 days approximately to be President. he's been in office for 100 odd days. That is a total time of less than 8% in office! Do you know of any job where someone can get hired, go in and in less than 8% of their projected time there, turn a mess that is no where NEAR as fubared as Bush left around? Two wars, healthcare non existent, banks failed, stocks plunged, housing down, jobs gone, no hope in the country. All fixed in 8%... even the people who Republicans claim think he's God don't believe that's possible, but Republicans seem to think it should have been fixed yesterday, lol.
Second, there are positive signs within the economy that even Wall Street claims today. Housing recently announced some gains, where they hadn't for almost a year or more. Warren Buffett who certainly isn't a tax/spend liberal even acknowledged much optimism about the direction recently. California, Nevada and Arizona home prices are starting to perk up again.
The funny thing is that now the Republicans are saying that it's Obama's mess. But I guarantee you, in two years when things have straightened out more than Bush left it, they will be claiming it's because of Bush's plans BEFORE he left office, while right now it's Obama and the Socialist's fault and mess.

The Bush neo-conservative right-wing extremist supporter just does not get it; he does not like you. He never liked you.
His tax cut for you was 600 bucks! His median tax cut, when we studied this in my statistics class YEARS ago, turned out to be around 80,000 for the top 2%. ROFL. You ain't rich! You aint' eva gonna be rich! You just pay for all of these inane foreign, tax, economic, job, domestic, and health care policies.
I feel sorry for "Republicans" who think they are, or will become, small "r" republican. These "ditto-heads" are doomed.
George W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, chaired by former Bush Commerce Secretary and Texas oilman Donald L. Evans. Members include Los Angeles investment banker Brad Freeman; Dallas hotel developer and former Bush ambassador to Costa Rica Mark Langdale; and Cincinnati-based businessman and Bush ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein Mercer Reynolds.
Foundation president Langdale said names of contributors will not be released because some donors prefer anonymity.
The regular Republican Bush supporter has job insecurity, multiple wars, record deficits, inflation, nothing done of health care (I think the uninsured increased 18% during the Bush Presidency) as he relaxes and raises HUNDREDS of millions of dollars for a library to promote his legacy.
I'll judge him not by what consequences I believe his actions will cause, but by what consequences they actually cause. Sounds like I quoted that, oh well, still though speaking now of if he's good or bad is pretty stupid, you have to base it on assumptions really.

But I guarantee you, in two years when things have straightened out more than Bush left it, they will be claiming it's because of Bush's plans BEFORE he left office, while right now it's Obama and the Socialist's fault and mess.
I don't know. They way the republicans are heading they might collapse from within and the libertarian party might rise up as the new "real" conservative party. It might be Obama vs. Paul in 2012 instead of Obama vs. Palin.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Bush has raised 100,000,000 --that's one hundred million-- dollars in 100 days for his "library."

The regular Republican Bush supporter has job insecurity, multiple wars, record deficits, inflation, nothing done of health care (I think the uninsured increased 18% during the Bush Presidency) as he relaxes and raises HUNDREDS of millions of dollars for a library to promote his legacy.
This is not funny.
I'll judge him not by what consequences I believe his actions will cause, but by what consequences they actually cause. Sounds like I quoted that, oh well, still though speaking now of if he's good or bad is pretty stupid, you have to base it on assumptions really.
