Should I go down the raider/destroyer or monk/tyrant path? I need the more PvP viable as well as group prefered character here and its kind of hard to find active communities or updated information on the subject.
Well it all depends on what type of dps you want. Both are equally active in pvp/seiges and both are needed in melee/grinding parties. Destroyer focuses on heavy armor, two handed weapons, massive hp, massive melee dmg/stuns, but slower overall speed. While tryants use light armor, 2 handeded fists, ranged and melee attacks/stuns, alot of hp and overall are the fastest class, attack and run speed. So it comes to either strong but slow, or weaker though fast.
I got a Destroyer to about LV 55 just to see how it played. It did good damage but was just too slow for my taste. I am currently playing a LV 54 Tyrant and its a much better class imo.

They are both really good. Tyrants are about very fast damage.
Destroyers are about huge swaths of damage, huge critcals.
I had subbed destroyer on my main and though I went back and forth between destroyer and gladiator (to try them both) I ended up with destroyer.
