Its false. They just put this up here to get peoples hopes up. Also ignore the link to the official website with everyone talking about it. It is nothing more than a publicity stunt  ..vaporware for sure

Indeed, it would be a big surprise if this game isn't truly awesome.  The only potential problem I can see is the networking challenges they'll have to overcome.  Neither Bioware nor LucasArts have much experience with online games, and I think this game will have a big enough draw that they'll need to be ready with a huge network.  On the plus side, they do have the money for it.

I'm just having some fun at your expense. The title suggests that KOTORO in the making is a question. It is not in question, it is in production. We may just have a language barrier here ...

lol do you not know who is charge of this project? see below..

Joining the Austin team as lead designer is James Ohlen, BioWare's Creative Director, whose previous credits include lead or co-lead design roles on Star Wars(R): Knights of the Old Republic(TM), Neverwinter Nights(TM), Baldur's Gate(TM) and Baldur's Gate II(TM). Also leading the BWA team are MMO veterans Richard Vogel and Gordon Walton. Richard Vogel brings 15 years of experience to BioWare Austin, previously serving as VP of Product Development for Sony Online Entertainment's Austin studio, as well as launching Ultima Online(TM) as a senior producer at Origin. Gordon Walton recently served as VP, studio manager and executive producer at Sony Online Entertainment as well as VP and Executive Producer at Electronic Arts.

lol Gordon and Rich both helped make SWG, they left SOE to go work for BioWare for a reason, to build a real Star Wars MMO.

Against my usual habit I have great hopes for this. I too enjoyed KOTOR I and II a  lot, and the idea to make a story driven MMO sounds like a cool plan. If anyone can make it, its Bioware.

If enough people keep wishing, maybe it will.    Then again they would only have two planets and one race, with no story line questes.   But hey I heard betas starting this summer, or is that summer 2011?

Honestly companys build up hype for a game years in advance, so all the suckers will be lined up to buy the super duper collectors edition.    That old rapp song said it best, Dont believe the Hype.

I won't argue that most companies turn up the hype machine way too early in a games development cycle, but there is a small yet crucial part of TOR story I feel the need to make light of. When TOR first surfaced, it wasn't because LA or Bioware sent out a press-release to gaming journalists. Instead, disgruntled former employees of LA leaked company secrets to the public and TOR just happened to be one of them. Everyone immediately picked up the story, as a result Bioware/LA decided to officially announce TOR.

Yeah even some who still worked for Lucas Arts since they were to excited to keep it to themselves. SOE was also working on another SW MMO at one point, it was a fight between SOE and BW. There was one point I guess when LEC put a hold on TOR because they didn't like the direction and went back to see what SOE had.
