Patch 1.2 thoughts

currently on the test server.

Ok, so i have a 40 white lion and a 40 knight of the blazing sun. seems to me these 2 Careers have had the biggest nerf to the upcoming changes in patch 1.2

White Lions

  • Fetch has a 65 feet range ; Pet still can be snared, taunted, disabled, and killed within 2-3 seconds. That is if they don't focus fire on the white lion himself, since he is in 65 feet range.

 

  •  Tearing Blade - Does not stack and is not affected by strength.

 

These are the 2 major changes to White Lions,  all I can say is if they don't scale the pet to that of a rank / renown rank of the player, the pet becomes a useless tool for a white lion.

 

 

Knights of the Blazing Sun

  • Knights no longer recieve aggro from mobs attacking a group mate under the affect of our auras.

 

  • Shield of the Sun - Damage timer set at 2 seconds Per tick. Changed to Elemental damage and can be mitigated.

 

there are other changes to knights as well. But I'm mostly concerned about the PvE tanking aspect of the career.

I had high hopes for WAR, I wanted it to succeed. But from each patch they implement they destroy a few classes and make they useless. IMO the knights were not a finished career when they introduced them into the game. Right now If the patch goes live as it is right now,  people will either re-roll a slayer or a choppa, even worst they might just cancel their sub.

I am hoping Slayers will do it for me , since they nerf 2 of my favorite careers into the ground. If slayers are not up to the hype , I guess I'll be cancelling all 3 of my WAR accounts (LOL).

  •  Excellent changes. About time Fetch was soundly nerfed. Love the changes to the auras. I remember requesting this change in BETA when I tried out the Chosen. So annoying when you couldn't use your auras because there were other mobs nearby, not to mention getting dismounted by a squirrel or rabbit.

    Class balancing is always something people are going to reroll, cancel, or resubscribe over. Don't expect an outcry, 'least not consensus over any one or two changes such as these.

    im sure they will even out the nerfs if they prove to be a bit too much

    and as for slayers and choppas they seem to have a pretty interesting mechanic from what ive read, plus the game desperately needed another orc class to stop the zerg of black orcs and the slayer just looks pure awesome.

    Considering Destro has been hit harder by the balance bat with Which Elf's lossing their 'tanks = cloth users' amour debuffs, the magus loses their one trick pony with rift stacking players on top of each other so they can't move, Orks heal less and their stun doesn't stack, same with marauders..

    To name a few I think Order got off light this time, shame my Archmage still stucks tho..

    Most of the changes are good for the game but I do agree with at least three of the high elf classes, AM, SW and WL need to be taken back the drawing board again has their roles and skills aren't as usful as their destro counterparts

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

    I've stop playing the game couple months ago, is this update should make me come back or i should wait more?

    From watching my brother and his two room mates playing the game kicking, whining, and cursing for about 4 hours a day. I would say wait as a lot and I mean a lot of stuff still is frustrating as hell it seems.

     

    Wait about 6 months after all the nerfing, classes and stuff on the chalk board has been worked out.

    They've made a ton of fixes.  I guess the only thing you can do is go and read over all the patch notes.  If you like what's being done then resub.  If not well keep waiting.

    BLACKGUARDS DIDNT GET ANY LOVE AT ALL.

    i was hoping they change exile and make it more usefull like the ibs knockback, but  nooooooooooooo

     

    i was hoping they decrease the amount of hate so that the tactic slot can be used for somthing eles instead of hate gaining abilltys,. thus allowing the blackguard more survive abillity with defence abillitys

    but nooooooooooooooooooo

     

    i was hoping they switch the moral 4 abillity on the path of malice khaines warding and put it in path of loathing since it is a typical deffence abillity , and a crappy one at best. and put the path of loathing moral abillity in path of malice , but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    i was hoping they would leave the disorntate   abillity alone , but they have to go ahead and nerf it now making it impossible to kill wp's runepriest, but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    i was hoping they would make the blade of ruin more effective for path of malice and thus allowing us able to even use it  more often , but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

     

    they think blackguards are prefect they way they are. gimp tanks

    I don't know what people are crying about, but I have:

    - killed DOK, WE ...alone on my WH. Of course, I brought myself back many times and change strategy after gotten my a$$ handed to me by these guys. People just have to learn how to deal with certain situation and play the class to its fullest potential. Remember, your WH can debuff DOK's favors and it hurt them alot, so use that debuff whenever it becomes available; also, switching your bullet buff to the one that cut healing effectiveness would help.

    - played SM and I thought the class was very good. It has decent tanking and dps, whichever style you wanted to play. The problem is that most Order's healers are just plain sucked, and any tank without a healer is just a paper tiger because they have to get up close to the enemies to do the job. I had a WP in the group one time who didn't even know that he was the only class with healing in the party until everyone died and I asked why he didn't heal.

    Those are just few examples of how easy it is for folks to just complain to the dev instead of learning how to play the class to its fullest potential. I don't remember how many times I've seen WH chasing a guy , well within shooting range, half the zone then finally give up....I've seen tank being kited by a caster or archer for a long time without knowing how to snare them down or use their own snare removal skill to close the distance on them......Then I've seen super WH who can solo a chosen same lvl, killed him with 80% life left....It wasn't my WH, I am still learning on how did that WH do that.

    After playing the game for 2 months and trying pretty much all classes and reading the boards every day, i came to the conclusion that this company has no clue what so ever of how to balance the game and nither they read what the player base has to say ,i feel kind of sorry when i see people spending so many hours sending such great feedback (not just 1 person but most of the expirienced players ) with so many details and arguments, just to get them right back with a slap in the face (like buffing classes dont need it and nerfing classes that people dont even play anymore because they just plain suck).

    Like some people have stated at warhammer allaince , if u dont roll an Ironbreaker , Warrior priest ,DoK, engeneer/SH or WE from the start ... you are basicly shooting yourself on the foot before you even start playing.Its just no fun spending so many hours to see your class is pretty much crap... and even if everyone knows it and they post feedback about it ... what you get ? another nerf... i mean come on... when u see the class not been played at all (lets say a healer like archmage) and then in every Scenario been 4-5 Warrior priest/Dok out of a team of 10.... u know somthing is wrong , and what they do ? they buff a little more the Warriorpriest/Dok and leave the Archmage in the shadows.

    Don't get me wrong i dont play order only , i play both and want to see some balance, i hate feeling forced to roll 1 class to not suck , i hate how my Witch hunter cant get even close of how the Witch elf performs (they have so many problems since realise and they just keep getting nerfed instead of fixing them) or my SH doing more damage then my Sorc without having the backslash crap killing theirself and at the same time, more utility and survavility(what they do? they nerf Sorc/BW more)

    If you read the forums you will see that most people complain about their classes been more nerfed (execpt the ones named ) in the forums and really not fun/enjoyable to play at all .

    Somehow most of the playerbase have fallen into mythic trap "oh well my class sucks/aint fun im going to roll a choppa/slayer " , but most likely again, they are gonna put a good amount of time and effort to level that toon , get used to it and then they are gonna get nerfed pretty hard after a month or toon just so they re-roll again into some other carrer.

    Last thing, most dev/programmers whatever.. they dont read or answers any questions in warhammer allaince about all the feedback/questions (actually nothing at all) and they realise patches that dont fix any of the core problems but mostly make them worse at the point the players like me are starting to think they just got some monkeys doing the job at mythics , So what the players do ? they take the time to post  in the official forums they just realized and put all the feedback again , been polite and eveyrthing .....and to be surprised .. i would never think they would say this but a moderator comes and say "hey dont talk about those problems , you are just allowed to talk about the changes we have made in 1.2" 

    It's almost as if they didnt want the game to get better , im not a fanboi at all nor a troll, i actually never post... i just feel bad for all the players getting such disappointed with this company and really feel like they dont care about it at all either. 

    I myself will be leaving if they keep doing things the way they are atm and play something else , no biggie (even tho all the hours i have put  into that game ) 

    To me it just feels as if down there in Mythic they had this Giant spinning rulet to spin at launch time to randomly decide witch class to nerf next to "balance " the game .

    Anyways .. doesnt matter , roll a Choppa/Slayer!
